The Suns have not had cap space for so long it is hard to remember. In any case, there is a lot of pressure to sign an FA or make a splashy trade. Maybe it will happen, but there is an equally strong case for just sitting tight.

Right now the Suns really don't know what they have. Is JJ for real? Will Marion to form? Is Barbosa going to be a real PG? How soon will Lampe be a factor and as a center or a PF? Is Casey going to be the pure shooter backup they have been looking for? Can Voskuhl ever learn to play smart and not just hard? Is Amare going to become just a really good player or a great one?

Until the Suns answer those questions (or at least some of them), it is going to be hard to know what to do next. For example, if the performance of JJ over the last few weeks is going to be continued, then getting a super stud SG may not be the first priority. If Lampe is ready to be a center, then the Suns do not need to spend above mid cap on a big man.

I'm not saying changes are not inorder, but not doing something may make sense as well.

I like the idea of waiting to see how the cards play out. When you get right down to it, we don't know much about anything. There are more questions than there are answers.

Will JJ be consistent? Will CJ keep improving? Will Barbosa ever get enough control to not turn the ball over? Will Amare ever be able to play without getting injured or hurt? Will Lampe develop into a hulk and be a solid C? Will Vujanic join the Suns? Will Kobe stay out of jail and if so, will his shoulder not cause a problem? Will the Cavs make the playoffs? Will NY make the playoffs? Will we be able to get the Bobcats to take Eisley? Will Zarko show the skill we saw briefly before his injury? Will we get lucky and get the #1 pick?

Let me know what I’ve left out.

:D

Yup, I did ..... and if he does, will he still be here?

Maybe if he takes some yoga lessons he can soften up those hands. Imagine him in a yoga class with all those tiny women:D

I certainly agree with the general thesis George... I've been saying since it started that the talk about what to do to get Kobe is premature.

One thing that needs to happen soon is for Lampe to get steady PT so we start finding out about him - not to mention speeding his developement. D'A said he was going to use Barbosa and Z in prime time to do the same things regarding them and he's been doing that well. Lampe is more urgent than either of them, as I've mentioned a couple of times already since the questions regarding him have the most impact - one reason being is that 'bigs' usually require more developement time. Also when June rolls around dicisions about this years picks will have to be made whether we're ready or not. The more we know about Lampe at that time the more ready we'll be.

I think there is more to the Lampe situation than any of us know. There has to be a reason he is being held back. Honestly, we know about 10% of what is really going on.

I think Lampe's problem is simple. He was an outside guy in Europe and was being trained by Knicks to be an SF. He has no training at center on either offense or defense. Even if he were older, this would still be a problem since playing center is different than playing outside - especially in the NBA.
