As I posted on the Cardinals board, we have received numerous complaints about the constant negativity on this board and the Cardinals board. It is overwhelming the board and driving away traffic.

It is fine to have negative opinion. In fact having opposing views is what encourages a good community. However, it is not necessary to post said negative opinion in nearly every thread. If you don't like Amare, Marion, D'Antoni, the Gorilla...whatever. Discuss it where appropriate and please don't drag it into every discussion.

For instance, I have read the same handful of guys post a dozen times in various threads how we need to trade for Mike Miller. We not only have a forum for that, but it isn't something that needs to be constantly said.

One of the most perposterous things I have read recently was the comment "We will complain about D'Antoni until we hoist a trophy."

No...please don't. Say your peace, discuss it where you said your peace, and move on. I would rather not make this a moderator issue, but I will if necessary.

Well said Chris. I look at these forums as an entertainment and news resource. Much like Dan & Doug being off this week, I don't like tuning into sports radio and getting some political talk show host, not talking sports, but turning the show into a rant on state funds, or the mayor of Glendale wanting tickets to the Superbowl.

If I want to read that D'Antonio should be fired, I'll go to that thread. I didn't make any complaints, but I do agree, keep on topic so we're not all sifting through the off topic arguments to get to the pertinent points of the thread. Whether or not you're always negative or positive, I don't realy care, I just don't like re-reading or having to skip through the same arguments in every thread.

Let the people speak you super uber nerd!!!

Since you felt the need to be insulting, you are banned for two weeks. Honestly I simply won't tolerate pot shots at me when I am giving information from board administrators.

LOL, this thread is like fish in a barrel. The serious offenders won't be able to hold their tongues, so they'll expose themselves here.

Brilliant!

so as usual, the negative comments are driving people from the board, but saying things people are saying is "preposterous" or that you're a bad fan aren't? just because you don't agree with something, doesn't mean it's overly negative especially when you see that a lot of our own SUNS PLAYERS are voicing the same concerns we are.

The fact that Sunsman44 was allowed to post here so long makes me wonder why we are just now addressing the issue. He posted some of the most negative things about this team; it made my head spin. A big chunk of the current negativity is game analysis. When we play bad, the comments are going to be about the bad play. The only thing I can agree that are out of control are the "Trade ____" comments. I'm willing to bet there is as much trade discussion now as there was in the offseason, which is crazy. Even I am guilty of that.

That would be me.
Preposterous? I guess that's for you to decide Chris.
Is this board sponsored by the PHX SUNS?
I think there are some here including myself who just expect excellence from a team of all-stars led by a genius coach. Nevermind that.
I'll lighten it up for those that are irritated by the negativity and are simply content with being entertained by DA's SUNS.

Rah,rah.rah!

:fans:Sorry but thats not reality.
How about some specific guidelines as to what is acceptable?

As you wish.

Edit: There is absolutely no freedom of speech on this board. This is a privately owned board and it's users agree to abide by the forum rules by visiting the place.

I will highlight the following:

#6. Moderator decisions are final. Publicly complaining about them will only result in further action.

I can also highlight rule #3. Every other moderator on this board closes threads like this because people feel the need to take pot shots instead of actually discussing things.

I said "I would rather this not be a moderator issue."

That means "Show some self restraint." I frankly have zero desire to arbitrarily decide what is "too negative and too positive." I am merely relaying what was relayed to me through the channels.

You can say "D'Antoni sucks". In fact, I can make a "Official complain about Mike D'Antoni" thread if you like. Everyone who wants to complain about him can do so.

If you find you have said "D'Antoni sucks" in like 10 threads, don't you feel you are overstating your position just a bit? Everyone is welcome to their opinions. The key is to not badger or beat down others with it.

And yes Sunsman44 did push the bounds too far. He will eventually come back and perhaps this time he will have learned his lesson. If not, then he will be gone again.

i havent seen anything bad here recently... I actually have seen some well articulated points from both sides of arguments, and i think the core argument that is at the bottom line of every point that keeps coming up over and over is relevant. And thats whether we have the right players and the right system, and which pieces are or are not fitting... This team is going to change based on comments by Kerr and Nash and Stoudemire, and speculation and debate is why we all visit these boards, differing opinions and heated arguments are needed

The problem, I think, is not the negative posts. It's that every thread has the same ones over and over and over again.

I don't see a problem. But, its not my board.
If you don't like what you read....examine the source and simply ignore it.
Just a suggestion.
If you asked me...the bigger problem on this board(and many others) is the inflated ego's that some get.
That somehow, the longer you've been posting, your opinions become somehow "more relevant" and that you have the right to act as a moderator to those that are newer to the board. Thats pathetic cyber-putz behavior IMO.
You know who you are.
Thats all.
I'll attempt to calm my anti-D'Antoni system sucks rants at least until playoff time.

I generally have no problem with negative posts, as everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Just like I said earlier, it gets tiresome seeing the same comments in every single thread, even when the thread probably doesn't call for it.

mojorizen, there is no more post conspiracy regarding respect... You just learn what people think more when youve posted back and forth with them longer. I still disagree with the same people that i disagreed with the first day i started posting here.

Disagreement is cool. Thats not what i'm speaking of. I'm talking about ego's. They know who they are. There's one on every board:rolleyes:

BTW,

I need to publicly apologize to mojorizen7 for using one of his posts as an example. I deliberately didn't name names because I was trying to emphasize it was becoming a board wide issue, but ultimately failed by using a specific example.

I am not speaking of anyone in particular. Criticism is fine. Repeated criticism about the same thing by the same people is a tad much. Same with repeated "It's always perfect!" comments as well.

I actually liked your thread where you responded about Amare. You presented your side and left it open for discussion.
