Coyotes with a very nice win in Vancouver last night, 5-4. This after being down 2-0 in the first 6 mins or so, then coming back to tie it 2-2 before the end of the first period.

They currently sit in 7th place in the conference, 2 points out of 3rd (division lead), and 3 points from being out altogether.

They let things get too interesting in the third, but otherwise those are two huge points to pick up. First place in the division for tonight!

I believe LA is currently in the lead as they have played 1 fewer games

they are also playing hot and quick is playing really well

SJ ends their season with a home/away set with LA ...... should be a lot on the line in that matchup

Gutsy game by the Coyotes as they were missing quite a few key players and lose to San Jose in a shootout. Phoenix has to be one of the worst teams when it comes to shootouts and it very well could cost them a playoff spot.

Another tough game tomorrow as they host the rested Blues.

It seemed to me that Smith wasn't seeing the puck well. A couple of those golas were softies, imo. I think he would say the same thing. But 1 point is much better than 0. This division, and therefore conference, is tight and will come down to the last game most likely.

Coyotes lay a big fat egg tonight as they lose to the Blues 4-0. With 6 games left, I think they need to win five to make the playoffs.

I just don't see the Avs making it

I see Dallas, SJ, Phx & LA fighting for 3 spots

They all play each other quit a bit ...... SJ closes their season with a home/away with LA

Phoenix is a point up on SJ and LA and tied with Dallas (with 2 more games played than all of them)

Dallas is looking pretty good in tie-breakers

Should be pretty close down the stretch and an interesting stretch of games ..... with a long break for the coyotes they should be well rested going into this last stretch and Doan will have off over a week between games

Doan is back, Vrbata and Aucoin should be as well. Just about every game is a must win now.

well colorado is pretty much done

sharks fail to seize their opportunity last night losing to the ducks ....... 1-5 with all losses in regulation this year against the ducks ...... pathetic

tonight is important for both teams - but not quite must win

SJ still finishes with 2 games against LA which is proceeded by 2 games against dallas .... if those games end in regulation there is a lot of potential for either standing still or one team being buried and as it's 4 teams racing for 3 spots only 1 team needs to really hit a bump

will be interesting/entertaining

tonight I hope for a sharks OT win

Vrbata has two goals and the Coyotes are up 2-0 in the 3rd period with 11 minutes to go. Great goaltending by Smith, especially in the first period where San Jose dominated.

And the Yotes own the head-to-head series. I still think they'll make the PO's; I just hope it's not as the 8th to play STL.. ugh!

Went to the game last night. Impressed with the crowd, not a sellout but a very good size crowd. Congrats to Whitney for his 1000 point. Vrbata looks to be getting hot and Smith once again was stellar. I like how the Coyotes don't play until Tuesday, giving the guys a needed rest. They have to find a way to beat the Blue Jackets. Win 2 of their last 3 and they should get in the playoffs. Would be nice to get the #3 seed.

Coyotes are up 2-0 in the 2nd period over the Blue Jackets and Mike Smith just made a spectacular save, his best of the year!

Smith is on fire. Just a few minutes after his unbelievable save, he made two more great ones.

2-0 Coyotes after two. That was one of the best periods the Coyotes have played this year. Not only was Smith crazy good, Boyd Gordon scored and also used his body twice to block shots. He was in obvious pain after the first shot but still used his body to block the second shot. In lots of pain, he barely made it off the ice. He definitely took two for the team. Hopefully he is okay.

That was one of the most amazing saves you'll ever see. Guy has been a brick wall tonight.

Big win if they can hold on. Columbus has had the Yotes number lately.

That was ugly, but at this stage points are points. Smith has been incredible lately.

Coyotes win 2-0 and Smith records his 8th save. He had 54 saves, breaking the team record held by The Bulin Wall. Smith is getting closer to the record for consecutive shutouts, which is held by former Coyote Brian Boucher.
