Also I think the key for both QBs is getting rid of the ball quickly. Kurt Warner was good at this. Neither can afford to be pounded by a heavy pass rush.
I agree that the QB has to get the ball out quickly....however the line has to give the QB more than 2.13 seconds.JMO

In Josh Rosen's preseason debut, he was either pressured or received a bad snap on 11 of his 13 dropbacks. He had an average of 2.13 seconds before he was pressured

I would have guess close to that so interesting it was that bad. Sometimes watching you think protection is awful but then you find out they actually had more time than you thought. Certainly not the case last night.

I've seen Josh tons of times at UCLA I know what he can do but I was very impressed with how he handled adversity, he didn't always do that at UCLA.

I just hope at some point in his career he gets to play on a team with good WR's. UCLA never seemed to have them as a group and right now we're Fitz and a bunch of question marks. We need better OL play too obviously but I'd hope we're actively looking for WR's either in cuts at the end of preseason, or in trade scenarios.

Which is why I hope the Cardinals let him sit (for the year) and not throw him into the fire right away. It makes no sense in throwing Rosen in a game with this leaky o-line. Stay healthy Bradford, stay healthy.:)

He wouldn't be with the line he played with yesterday.

Actually, Warner drew the rush on him to open up lanes. He took a pounding as a result.

No doubt, plus we rarely chipped a DE and our O-line back then wasn't exactly spectacular either. Both of our current QBs do that well it seems, getting the ball out at the last second, standing in there and taking the hit.

The thing to watch for is how he differs from this game to game 4 of the preseason, that's what I care about

Looked. Like. A. Rookie.

Something to consider though. We watched the game. What could a vet have done better under those circumstance, in a new offense, with poor depth on the line and suspect WRs to make you say he did not play like a rookie... how could he improve in scrub snaps, two second performance decision offense with a freaking utility back as his running threat

I take as much from Rosen’s performance PS week 1 as I do Capi’s 3 sacks. Don’t care.

With the bad snaps, I gave Rosen an "A" as a shortstop. :wink2:

For a first game I couldn't ask for much more. He needs an offensive line and a center to show more of his game.
It would also be nice if he had receivers who were more adept at pass catching.

One nagging question - What were we doing that made Kanoff look more productive than Rosen?

Certainly good receivers can help a lot.

Rosen seemed to play out of the shotgun a lot with a number of poor snaps so this might have contributed to Kanoff being more productive.

Looked like a rookie with talent.

On the other hand Glennon looked like a rookie with no talent which is disgraceful considering the experience he has.
I thought about how he should have schooled those third stringers, but looked worse than them!

That and the second string line had a few jailbreak moments for Rosen!

Rosen played against two's while kanoff played against fours?

Agree. The Cardinals offensive line after the first string looked like a sieve.

If the Cardinals run the shotgun they may need a better backup center.

Here’s your anti-Rosen article. Reads like Mitch wrote it.

As a couple of others posted I was highly impressed with Rosen's shortstop skills. He fielded all those low snaps cleanly and kept his eyes down field.
