Seeing the Sox win was AWESOME!

It reminds me why I am a Cards fan. So that when they win the SB, that moment will be all the more sweeter!

I agree but people here were more excited about beatin the yanks. They are no where near as crazy as they were last week. I hear people screaming out of there houses right now but they were a lot more excited when they came back on the yanks.

So Arthur, if you are a Cards fan, didn't it bother you to watch them lose tonight?

I'm fine with the Red Sox winning. I just wish the Cardinals had put up a better fight. The World Series was a big dud compared to the league championships.

How true. This shows that the reg. season means nothing. They were average up until game 4 in Boston against NY. As long as you get in you could get lucky and win. The Sox got so many lucky bounces and breaks it was incredible.

8 straight wins - I'm thinking that's more being better than the other teams than lucky bounces.

I have to say that it was certainly impressive how the red sox took the championship. To go through NY and then to take out an historical rival in the cardinals...a script couldn't have been made better.

After the Sox traded Nomar, their record was something like 42-16. That is damn good. They also beat a strong Anaheim team.

They would not have made the WS if ruben's hit stayed in the park and did not take a lucky bouce into the stands. They had two call reversals in 1 game which is unheard of. St. Louis who has been a excellent baserunning team all year makes two blunders in one game. They had some luck. They are a good team dont get me wrong but i dont believe they were the best. They had 8 errors in the first two WS games. Lowe who sucked all years pitches lights out in the playoffs. Everything went there way.

I'm not saying they were a bad team im saying they werent the best. Anaheim was a hurt team. Anderson could barely swing a bat, kennedy was out, the pen was hurt.

Highest payroll team ever to win a World Series and everyone and their mother is on the bandwagon. What a joke. Half of the Sox fans I see out here were born and raised in California.

Oh and it appears you Red Sox fans have another curse.

From TJ Simers of the LA Times

Grim Reality Series Needs an Extreme Make-Ovaw

You know that business about being careful what you wish for, because you might be seen on Fox TV by everyone in the country, revealing the fact that almost everyone who lives in Boston is pretty ugly?

Well, you can bet it's no accident that Fox scheduled the premiere of "The Swan," featuring 10 "ugly ducklings," for Monday night, after two days of World Series camera shots showing ugly people sitting in the stands at Fenway Park.

You couldn't find a much better advertisement for plastic surgery and the need for dramatic makeovers than the first two games of the World Series.

If there were any people in the park who were good-looking, it was obvious they were just visiting or promoting a Fox TV show. In fact, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Tom Hanks and Jimmy Fallon were all at Fenway, and who did Fox spend the most time with on camera? The ugliest of them all — even asking Fallon to talk with a Boston accent so he could get on everyone's nerves, like everyone else from Boston.

There's nothing wrong with being ugly — we all have relatives. I get along fine with the wife's brothers, Bubba I, Bubba II and Bubba III, but I can't imagine any of them appearing on TV unless "America's Most Wanted" decided to show one of their mug shots again.

We haven't seen much of Boston in the World Series the last 80 years or so, so it's shocking to see so many ugly people in one place. Like you, I just assumed the ugly people in this country were working on their farms in Nebraska.

But two days of Fox coverage has changed my mind. Fox News' motto is "fair and balanced," and so no matter who you are — if you're wearing a funny hat, praying, making a face or dropping your head into your hands — you're going to get on TV.

This is raw reality TV, and based on the pictures Fox has brought us, I'd have to conclude that everyone living in the Boston area who attended the first two games of the World Series is ugly, because at one time or another, the Fox cameras showed us everyone in attendance.

From my experience, ugly people will actually make an attempt to look better or dress themselves up if they're going to be around good-looking people like you or me. But most of the fans at Fenway were dressed hideously. No sense trying to catch the attention of someone else if everyone else is ugly. Some fans wore hats or scarves to cover their faces, I presume so they wouldn't scare the children.

Listen, when they talk about the Boston curse, it's the curse of being so ugly. Some of that has to do with everyone residing in Boston being a miserable, cantankerous, depressing know-it-all who expects the worst in life. (I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some of our editors have roots in Boston.)

Between pitches — every pitch — Fox has shown us Boston fans making faces at their own players when something goes awry, and you can see how it's taken its toll on those poor people. The Fox cameras have also shown us that some of those people need to trim their nose hair.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AS YOU can see, the fans in Boston live and die with their Red Sox, which is understandable, because when you're that ugly what else is there to live for?

But could you imagine the outcome of a Clipper game determining whether you're going to be happy or grumpy the next day at work?

These people are crazy. Just think how many Red Sox fans have said at one time or another in their lives: "I'm not going to die until Boston wins the World Series." You know how many people took their last breaths thinking their lives had not been worth living?

It's not like that here, of course. When the Angels and Dodgers lose, we just grin and bear it, which explains why we remain the beautiful people.

A breath of fresh air, couldnt have said it better myself. I'm happy for the people who have been die hard sox fans through thick and thin but i HATE people who all of a sudden are sox fans and have no idea what they are talking about. It pisses me off more than anything else.

I am a huge braves fan and people say im a bandwagoner. Nobody knows pain more than a braves fan. When you win your division every year for more than a decade and only have 1 WS, that is pain.

Sox fans really arent happy deep down bc now they have nothing to bitch about going into next year. They love to bitch but now what do they have to say? They would have been happier losing.

Dude - your posts are pretty petty to me - Are injuries a factor? Yes - otherwise - the Sox likely beat the Yankees in game one with a healthy Schilling on the mound and then they don't need to BATTLE THRU INJURIES to beat them. 8 straight wins - are there lucky breaks? Yeah - but everyone gets them - it really shows how you capitalize on those breask which makes you better than the other team.

8 straight wins and all you can say is lucky breaks - they pounded the Cardinals to the tune of 13-2 over the last three games - never giving up more than one run - they were clearly better than the Cards and they backdoor swept the Yanks - even with a hobbled Curt Schilling.

In a 7 game series - the best team ALWAYS wins.

I dont believe that the best team ALWAYS wins in a 7 game series. They were a .500 team the first 100 games. They hit their stride the last 60 games and the playoffs. They are a good team but St. Louis won over 100 games this year. The Cardinals beat themselves. They should have won game 1. They had pedro on the ropes in game 3. Schilling is a warrior no doubt and i think he should have won MVP. Lowe pitched out of his mind and bellhorn woke up after leading the AL in strikeouts in the regular season.

I am giving them credit they are a good team but IMO they were not the best team this year and the regular season proved that. Every team has a streak, the devil rays even won 17 in a row. I am not taking anything away from them but IMO they were not the best team.

The Cardinals beat themselves - are you kidding me? They had Pedro on the ropes - and HE RECOVERED AND SILENCED THEM - They couldn't even overcome 4 errors to beat Boston in Game One and then they just curled up and died last night.

There is no title for regular season wins - you just sound like a bitter Cards fan who can't admit his team just got the everliving snot kicked out of them.

I grew up in CT, went to school in Boston, and lived there for 8 years after graduation. So go ahead and throw around your "credentials" if it makes you feel superior. Saying Red Sox fans will be unhappy because they now have "nothing to complain about" is sheer ignorance. And if that's what you believe, then you're spending too much time listening to the dillholes on WEEI. Oh, and I get NESN too.

And hey, the Bruins still suck ass, so you got that going for you...which is nice.
