The more I see, the worse this looks.

Apparently Bruce Wayne starts the movie crippled, based on his fight with the Joker and has quit being Batman. WTF?

Just read an interview with Nolan and he very specifically said that the Joker is not mentioned in the film AT ALL. Said it was done out of respect to Heath.

Well that kind of sucks. IMO that would be in HONOR of him. I don't see how mentioning a past confrontation with his character on film would be disrespectful at all as long as they didn't kill his character off screen to try and explain Heath's death.

In fact, saying that is what caused Batman to retire would be a way of expanding the legacy of the character Heath helped define in the trilogy.

Not really a spoiler, but just in case:

Word is, this movie ties really well with Batman Begins. If you loved The Dark Knight more, than your opinion probably will not change after this movie, but if you loved Batman Begins more, than this one may be your favorite. Apparently a lot of connection to the first movie.

Hmm. May be time for a re-watch.

dcr & I are watching all 3 at the iPic theater in Scottsdale. Full reclining seats, blanket & pillow, lol. Should be fun.

Saw that Harkins is selling all 3 movies for $20. Not bad though watching on Blue Ray in your home is probably as good.

for all those who loathed the Bat-voice, apparently, it's been toned down this time.

As bad as it was, I hope 'toned down' is actually good enough.

I'd love to be in the theater when Stout storms out only 15 minutes into the film yelling "Screw you, Nolan !! Screw you, Bale !! Why couldn't he talk like a freaking normal person?!"

:D

ha... awesome.

I'm seeing this Saturday morning @ 10 on the IMAX. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

My son got me a pair of the Marathon tix...I'll have to miss the beginning of Batman Begins due to a final but I'll be there for the midnight show.

you going to the IMAX? I'll repeat. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

that being said, I'm not expecting this to be as good as TDK... more like a an even better version of Batman Begins, which was pretty damn good in its own right.

i've heard varying things about just how good/great this is, but to a man, everyone says the last half hour is just freaking awesome.

Nah, regular screen for the marathon. I'll take my wife to IMAX on Sunday.

I'm doing the marathon Thursday night/Fri morning. IMAX sucks for an initial viewing, because you miss so much detail. It's awesome for a second viewing, though.

man, I completely disagree. I want to see that sucker exactly the way Noaln intended people to. I don't find I miss any detail for this kind of stuff, rather I feel completely immersed in the story. either way... it probably won't be the only time I see it.

It is patently impossible to see all of the detail in an IMAX experience. The fact that it wraps around to the left and right means that you'll miss stuff. Now, I love seeing certain movies in IMAX, but only after I've seen it already, so I don't miss anything. I understand wanting to be immersed in it, like you said. I just like to do it later.

Anyone else going to the marathon at the Superstition Springs Harkins tomorrow?

Maybe we could meet up for a ASFN high 5 before the show starts.
