Show me something that is worth the $40+ bucks that we spent the last time we went to the movies? Granted, I liked I am Legend.

The only movie that is even close is Cloverfield.

There is a reason I try to replicate the theatre experience at home. It is because of the damn prices.

I'm not sure about Cloverfield any more. I was excited about it until a friend gave me some information. She said it's made by the same guy that made lost, and Cloverfield is going to be a 'you hear the mosters but don't see them for the whole movie' kind of deal. Since that's one of the things I found lethally ******** about Lost, I don't think I'd like Cloverfield if it were like that.

Are you a theatre hopper?

I can't go to the movies without snacks, and I'm not the type to smuggle them in.

It isnt smuggling them in if you are holding them in the Target bag full of snacks you just bought in plain to see sight. Down in North Phoenix at the AMC 30 I walk in with food and drinks every time and they have never stopped me yet. I was even told I could walk in with real food from one of the food places that are directly located in the same shopping center, even the Starbucks.

Most places aren't quite as accomidating. I know the movie theatre that I worked at in HS wasn't.

:stupid:

I started doing the same thing when someone I know who use to work at a AMC told me they were informed to not stop food or beverages from entering with the exception of alcohol and such.

-----I am not sure how true this next part is, so don't kill the messenger------

He said this was because back east at a Cinemark a dibetic lady was not able to bring in her snacks and went in anyways and ended up going into diabetic shock, so most theaters changes its policy according to this guy, but do not advertise it. He told me this about 3 years ago and I have been doing it since.

I tested it once the the AMC in Arrowhead. They stoped my with my subway and I said I was diabetic, they brought the manager over and he whispered something and they let me in and apologized. I then tried it at a bar with a bottle of water and they did not give, though they gave me a free bottle of water to replace it.

AMC has AM Cinema - not quite the luster of "date night" - but I used it a lot this summer

any weekend movie that starts before noon is $5 a ticket

Yeah, this, Iron Man, Prince Caspian, and the New Indiana Jones (is that this summer?). Those are the big ones I want to see.

You think Prince Caspian looks good? The actor playing him looks like a pretty boy. I hate when movies do that--good-looking actors who can't act. That said, I'm looking forward to checking it out--and seeing if they drop some of the more overtly religious overtones found in the first film.

Oh and Indiana Jones comes out in about 4 weeks (it's the Memorial Day release this year).

Well, they didn't really show him speaking or acting in the trailers, so who can tell? The movie looks incredible, so I hope he doesn't spoil it. I have no reason to think he will, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

while I'm looking forward to Indy like a 13 year old simply because it's Indy, the adult inside of me keeps asking "How can they not have 90 seconds to make an incredible trailer?" Maybe it's just me, but all the trailers for Indy 4 have been incredibly flat.

Batman on the other hand, like I previously said, from their trailers to viral marketing have just been dead solid perfect. I should actually lower my expectations a little for that one. They're sky high right now.

This might be the only movie I see in the theatres this summer. The new Hulk looks awesome though. Ed Norton as the Hulk.

Hulk? I REALLY don't think so.
I was not interested in the first one in the least--I still haven't even seen it because it looked so bad. I saw the trailer for this one, and it looks like it's WORLDS better. I can't say still that I'm looking forward to it, but it definitely looks like it has potential.

I saw the trailer for it, and while it does look much better than the first one, it would have to be light-years ahead of the last one to even be average. I'd give it a shot based on liking Norton as an actor, but I like Bana as an actor too, and he couldn't save that steaming pile.
