Looks like we will draft a center in the first three rounds. And since we only have a late first and a late third, assuming no trades, if we want Martin or Kelly we'd probably have to use our first round pick on a center. And since BASK are proponents of the BPA, they'd probably have to pass on a center as their top pick, if they stick to their credo. Or will they?

Good question. You are right, I expect Kelly to go somewhere between 25-40ish and Martin to go somewhere mid to late 2nd. I would love to see us move back a few spots and still take Kelly, but there are no assurances that we will find a willing trade partner and that he will still be there. If they feel, as I do, that he has the qualities to be a very good starting center for the next decade then I have no problem with him being the pick at 29.

2. a little risk: trade down into the top of the 2nd. It seems every year there are teams looking to make the jump into the bottom of the first round. Kelley likely lasts that long.

3. High risk / high reward: take a defensive player at #29. Either a pass rusher like Emmanuel Ogbah, or an athletic OLB like Leonard Floyd, or a corner like Eli Apple -- and then hope, hope, hope Nick Martin of ND is there in the 3rd.

Hoping the pick is either Paxton Lynch, William Jackson, Vernon Butler, or Keanu Neal. They all seem like good possibilities to make it to us, though Paxton will be the less likely out of this group.

Would rather take a center in the 4th round.

I think you mean high floor, if I'm understanding your overall meaning.

I want more picks in what appears to be a deep draft but our needs have been whittled down considerably. Having said that if a difference maker is there at 29 then let's grab them.

A trade back would be nice so we could replace our NE 2nd and grab a center, CB and big safety with our first three picks. If that is not possible I think we need that center and can't risk waiting til pick 92. Obviously Stefen Wisniewski is not their cup of tea or wants too much coin. I can't believe after striking out last year and having to bring Sendlein back they don't view center similar to how they have viewed the pass rusher for years - a priority position that needs a real asset.

DL is the strongest position in this draft....why would you grab a center,...safety,...and corner?

If we put a kid like Vernon Butler in between Campbell and Gunter,.. with Jones and Golden coming off the edges..... folks will be amazed at how much better Justin Bethel got over the off season.

I keep hearing this & im not buying it. I still say this team will draft a impact player in RDs 1 & 3 that's gonna be a difference maker either on the Dline, ILB, DB or possibly QB

If we put a kid like Vernon Butler in between Campbell and Gunter,.. with Jones and Golden coming off the edges..... folks will be amazed at how much better Justin Bethel got over the off season.

I wouldn't reach for one unless you think Kelly is not worthy of pick 29. CB and S are positions of need and if one worthy of our pick is there at our R3 pick or theoretical trade down R2 pick(s) why wouldn't we grab one. We have a lot more depth at DLine than we do at CB & safety with Johnson, Powers and even possibly Jefferson being gone and TM coming back from an injury. I agree there is a ton of DL depth in this draft and I would be ok picking one but I think we will have an easier time finding one later than we will finding an immediate contributor at CB or safety.

Center Max Tuerk USC (6'5") could be there when we draft in the third round so could Graham Glasgow Michigan(6'6"). They both have the size that BA/SK like.

I agree we have more depth on the Dline, but would argue at some point you need more quality in these spots also. The way I see it we have one player on the Dline capable of winning 1 on 1 battles CC the rest for the most part are good rotational players that have very little impact during most games. JMO but if you get better players there takes alot of pressure off the secondary players because they won't have to cover as long.

This is a weak center class if you're looking for a plug and play. After Martin, who likely goes in round 2, there's nowhere to go that's fully appealing. I guess I'd take Blythe in round 4 if he's there. If you're thinking need go CB in round 1 and I will be yelling for a return man in round 3. They can't play it safe like last season's faircatchathon. WJ3 looks like the man in round 1 if he's there.

U fill the roster with cheaper players and then u keep the salary cap healthy and u Can get Also nice development players
This is the strategy of a winning team
We Can trade back in the 50 spot from 29
And get another 3th 4th picks.
Having 5 picks in the top 120 picks would be great

Two names that don't get a lot of attention on here for possible solutions at OC are Isaac Seumalo of Oregon St and Christian Westerman of Arz St. I put Seumalo right up there with Martin and Westerman is a very athletic guard that some project could transition to center. Obviously without any/much experience at center he isn't a week 1 starter, but he would be an excellent long term solution if we miss out on the top couple of prospects. We also have a 35 year old RG and a LG that has missed his fair share of games throughout his career, so I like that both of these players have experience at OG too.
