It's really hard to trade for Kevin Durant without including Cam Johnson or Mikal Bridges. In this case I used Johnson.

Now if the Suns traded Chris Paul, it becomes much easier mathematically.

Also if somehow Ayton could be used in a multi-team trade it might work.

Well, it's not going to get any easier then. You can forget trading Paul. Durant wants to play with both he and Book.

This makes sending Ayton to a third team necessary in a sign-and-trade if the Suns choose to keep Bridges.

I don’t really think so. Bridges isn’t going to be the sticking point in a KD trade.

It all depends on what the Nets want for the franchise moving forward. Are they going full rebuild? In that case it’s expiring contracts and picks. It really looks like they don’t want to trade him and there gonna price themselves out.

I was looking at getting the salaries to work in a multi-team trade. It's really hard without a $20 million contract to use.

I think everyone is waiting for Kevin Durant to be traded.

After that happens, I think there will be an explosion of trades including Deandre Ayton and Kyrie Irving plus many more pieces. Some of these trades cold be intertwined.

There is also a slight chance Donovan Mitchell gets traded.

What we are watching is high stakes chess being played out.

That podcast brings absolutely zero to the table, they are not a source for anything
And they don't pretend to be. They are the podcast equivalent of this message board. The difference is that a) you have an actual beat reporter (Gerald Bourguet - who is actually a good reporter) and 2 people that are intimately familiar with the front office having worked there (Lyndsay and Espo). They've never claimed to be a breaking news organization.

They do have a certain amount of support for Flex (they've had him on their show a handful of times) and they've even gotten players on it from time to time -- they had Jalen Smith and Torrey Craig on last year. EJ was on last week.

I follow Gerald Bourguet on twitter and read a lot of his articles when they are not pay-to-read. He is a very good and knowledgeable reporter.

If I were going to subscribe to a pay service PHNX would probably be it.

Their group does a lot of podcasts for the fans. Some are more informative than others. They often kick thoughts around much like a discussion forum. I give them credit for putting in the effort to put out a good product. On one of their podcasts they actually did the math for several Kevin Durant trade ideas... deals that would actually work.

I find their podcasts entertaining and informative. I wouldn't over analyze one particular podcast but use them as a supplement to other Suns news.

Man they spend a lot of time jabbering without actually saying anything. They really could use an editor to delete all the personal jabber and conversation.

What I like to see is them incorporate more live questions to the panel.

They answer some but I'd like to see the audience involved more.

I have two Suns podcasts:
Empire of the Suns (Kellan Olsen)
The Timeline

Both are excellent IMO.

Not a fan of the timeline but I’ll listen every once in awhile

I like

Solar Panel

Never heard Empire of the Sun but I’m gonna add it right now

Empire is good but they complain way too much about how stressed out they are. It’s like really? Nobody cares that you’re tired from writing/talking about sports.
I think it's funny, Kellen talks like 85% of the time, and Kevin just usually ends up agreeing with him. But I really like Kellen's takes.

The timeline has some great details in an episode from May 22nd but all are pretty solid. And probably the best cap breakdowns I have heard.

This one:

They usually seem believable in their analysis and they have some awesome YouTube videos.

"Rival NBA executives believe the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs could be holding onto their cap space to be a part of a blockbuster Durant trade where they’d be a salary dump destination in exchange for draft pick compensation."

I am not sure what this means? If the Pacers are involved that would seem to indicate the Ayton deal is either on hold or part of a 3 Way trade? How could they determine an offer sheet with Ayton if they are involved in a Durant deal? They would have to know the cap implications of all the moving parts.

This is really confusing because it didn't mention the Suns in that quote. You would think it would if the Nets are looking to maximize picks or if Ayton is part of this somehow.

A really dark outcome would be the Spurs/Pacers are trying to undercut the Suns for Durant with the Nets.

An update on the Durant sweepstakes. The Heat are reportedly the most determined team per Adrian Wojnarowski.

Guess they might not be getting 3 all stars and 22 first rounders?
