Depends on Durant. If he goes full Harden or Ben Simmons those three guys with a buttload of picks might be best they can do.

And if we’re signing Ayton anyway, KD’s salary won’t be any more on the cap than those salaries combined.

If we can somehow pull that off we’re looking at:

CP3
Booker
Cam J
Durant
Ayton

Cam Payne
Bizmack
Shamet

As our top 8. Maybe we throw a chunk of change at LaMarcus Aldridge. The bench is WEAK but that starting lineup isn’t just good… it’s potentially all time great.

Buyout guys come to play for that team during the season.

Why am I doing this to myself?

Pg--Cp3, Payne
Sg--Booker, Shamet
Sf--CamJ, Wainright
Pf--Durant, Landale?
C--Ayton, Biz

There are enough free agents still out there that we could fill out the depth of this roster pretty well.

yeah... that's the best team in the NBA. Pretty weak bench, but I think they'd be able to keep one of CP3/Booker/KD on the court at all times and likely have 2 of them on the court a lot of the time also.

that is what SHOULD happen this off-season. It won't though.

So, a deal for Durant would be something like Mikal, Crowder, and Saric plus three first-round picks and maybe three swaps? Would we be able to keep one of CamJ or Mikal? I assume it's easier to trade Mikal since he is more valuable and his contract fits better. Saric wasn't really even part of the team, and while Crowder was a starter, he was not a key starter. Nets would need to be motivated to make that deal.

Keeping Ayton makes this whole thing more palatable for me for some reason.

4 first rounders

I think it would more likely be Cam Payne and Shamet instead of Saric

Hopefully we can keep Cam Johnson, but I wouldn't bet on it.

We are not keeping Ayton, we would be renting him till January 15th. He's not staying here.

That's about the only way to do it. I don't think it can be done without Mikal's contract.

If they match on Ayton, I’m done making proclamations one way or another.

WHY?

I really want him to stay actually, but there is no reason whatsoever to believe it is possible.

He is not getting along with Monty, and most likely CP3, and they are not going anywhere for the next couple years. Also I have a feeling he is not to happy with management for the contract issues.

He has left already in his mind, very very difficult to turn that around.

If we could find a way to keep Bridges, get KD and match Ayton verses let him walk?

JJ gets at least 3 bad move mulligans from me in the future.

I'm guessing he will be quite a bit happier after he signs his big contract. I doubt the interpersonal stuff makes a much of a difference, and if the Suns get back to winning at the start of the season, that will all be water under the bridge pretty quickly.

That is a LOT of speculation about internal team relationships. Frankly, I don't believe it. New faces on the roster, new excitement and the bitterness of this negotiation and all goes away. Ayton is a max player and the Suns made him that. He is getting an $18 million dollar raise for this next year, alone. I think he is going to find it hard to stay miffed.

OK gang. Let‘s start a new lottery club and pool our tickets for Durant. Who is in?

It's interesting the Suns can't swap draft picks for Durant because apparently the Nets don't have any.

They could have swap options for picks they obtain.

I wonder how that works, is he saying that the Nets can't own and therefore transfer the rights to swap? And now that I think about it, that better be unallowed. A team could get rich just selling pick swaps.

So, they could buy the 30th pick from someone on the cheap and then swap it for a better pick. I don't know that it's against the rules but I find it hard to believe that someone hasn't gone that route already if it were allowed. But then again, I had no idea that you could do pick swaps until the Nets/Celtics deal.
