Wow...this movie looks fantastic and it's totally improvised.

Going to blog about it tomorrow on my site...

Pretty funny movie. I had no idea it was improvised until reading about it after I watched it. Even the ending was improvised. They let the cards determine who the winner would be. Ray Romano had to leave filming early, so they had to shoot two scenes with him losing and winning. I guess this explains why the film kinda sputters out in the end.

I always wanted to see that. Who knew it was available on You Tube?

ETA: D'oh! I thought that was 2 hours and 9 minutes rather than 2 minutes and 9 seconds. I thought it was the whole thing. Maybe NetFlix?

It's not on NetFlix. There's another movie by the same name though. I finally ordered it on Amazon for about seven bucks.

Well, just watched this and I was underwhelmed. I'm a fan of the Chris Guest movies (not that this was but it was a similar style) but this just wasn't that funny. I'm also an avid poker player. I like most of the actors in the movie but it wasn't their best work. Surprisingly, Chris Parnell was the funniest with his depiction of an Asperger's type poker savant nerd (Dune references).

Another thing that really bugged me is that near the one hour mark there is a blatantly wrong poker sequence. For a movie that was all about poker and even had Phil Gordon as poker commentator, that was just inexcusable. Four to a diamond flush is shown on the board and Jack Faro turns over KQ of diamonds and then The German flips over AK of diamonds. Two K of diamonds anyone? Even Gordon commentates on the hand wrong saying the only thing that can beat the KQ of diamonds is the Ace of diamonds. Well, there was a pair on the board so there were multiple full house combinations that would beat the Ace high flush.
