Can kind of say that about any of the coaches?
I just think BOB has done less with more...and had the past benefit of an awful division. He should have been going 12-4, 13-3 on a regular basis, like the Pats (who also have the similar benefit), but BOBs teams have played down to their opponents instead of stepping on throats like BBs.

Just my opinion, of course.

Dude went 9-7 with Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage at QB. That's not easy to do...no matter which division you play in.
Dude also signed off on Brock's rediculous contract without ever meeting the kid.

I want none of these. They all equal 5 wins or less with us losing larry and carson. It's actually the nightmare scenario coming true. Only one I consider is Munchak considering our biggest issue is o line and wideouts

Wait, BB runs NE and you're okay with Patricia, but because Rivera runs Carolina D, you don't want Wilks?

Personally, I don't want either of them.

No, I don't want either one. I was saying like Patricia's situation being similar to Wilks. Not that I liked Patricia. I can see how it reads that way though.

Two package deals that may be in the offing:

1. Pat Shurmur / Sam Bradford (UFA) who has just returned to practice after having his knee scoped. Paid $18m in last year of his deal.
2. Matt Nagy (KC) / Alex Smith - One year left on his deal ($14.5m base salary). Trade.

If Pat Shurmur comes with Bradford, I can’t wait to see the 180 ninety percent of the board does starting to believe in Bradford after bashing him for years.

I don't get the Munchak love...what makes him a great candidate? I think he represents the old school NFL and the league has changed.

I don't know why but Matt Patricia scares me. Again, lack of knowledge on my part but what makes him so good?

As if any of us, including the original poster, has any clue as to how someone will do as a head coach for us. Now, Mike Bidwill and Keim, SHOULD have a clue since they have access to tons of information and people on how these guys operate. The second and third hand stuff we have access to is pretty damn useless.

They are the ones I hope get it right.

I like Patricia. None of the established coaches outside of Gruden do anything for me.

I don't want Shurmur bringing any Minny QB's with him. If I had to pick, Bridgewater would be the one I picked.

Funny how a majority is putting a emphasis on the head coach regarding whether they are defensive coaches or offense, when it will probably be the OC and DC they hire which guarantees long term success. Yes, some head coaches as Arians control one side of the ball but the best head coaches are regulators who have an excellent staff which can implement their schemes. I think the main question should be which guy is the best game manager and people manager who will attract coordinators that will make the offense great and sustain the defense. We are looking for a Commander and Chief who can find the right generals to charge and defend and regulate them accordingly :)

Agree 100% and that is why if Bettcher can secure McCoy/ or Goodwin on offense and Pagano on D I would go that route.

My problem is that I do not think Bettcher is seasoned enough to command the respect when things get rough, being able to control his coordinators or players because of his familiarity of being just the DC who would cater to the head coach (which is normal, but already puts a team opinion on his identity)... especially when a guy like Goodwin might still see him as Betch who's not Arians and "why the hell did I not get the job" lol

Here’s a little insight into Patricia.

https://www.si.com/mmqb/2016/11/28/nfl-matt-patricia-bill-belichick-patriots-defense

It’s true Belichick’s disciples have struggled. Patricia, however, is not your typical protégé. His biggest challenge would be relating to his team. He’ll need a buffer on his staff. However, I’m a believer you can’t teach smart. He’s smart and creative in a non-radical way. He’s used to handling broad personnel change, which the new coach will surely have to do. He’s coached on both sides of the ball and was an O-lineman himself.

He’s a high risk, but also a high reward candidate. I’m gambling his intellect will trump his issues. He knows what a winning system looks like. He knows how it was maintained over time. I’m looking for continuity and he knows how that was built. Finally I keep coming back to “Stay in your lane.” Having worked for a Belichick means he knows how to make do with the personnel he’s given. I think he fits.

Maybe the underdogs wilks, flores or even schwartz will impress more
Doesnt mean same personality make good chemistry

Keim and Arians are different, thats why it worked

Arians is so different then anyone, a man with ton of experience and strong personality but in the same time close to u like a trusted parent
What about Schwartz's coaching record makes him palatable? 1 winning season in 5 ranging from 2-14 to 7-9. Granted he took over an 0-16 team but after going 10-6 he went 4-12. In short, no thanks.

What's palatable about Gruden's record after winning a Super Bowl with Tony Dungy's team?

45/51 and there are some here who'd salivate at getting him here.

I don't like Schwartz or Munchak. Both were failures as Head Coaches and I doubt they will be any better the second time around.

I still think Gruden sucks at developing young QBs (he was vintage Whisenhunt at Tampa when he had to find one) and it's hilarious he ends up being the guy before the draft who sits down with the prospects lol
