Everything had been going so swimmingly.

MVP quarterback... defense making plays... Vance Joseph could be a head coach... No 1 in power rankings... best WR core in the game etc

Today will drive any over confidence that had been sneaking in out of the building.

Quite a few players and coaches were left with egg on their face after certain plays. Flaws exposed.

Questions raised about how we cope against well organised teams, against quality QBs, with the national spotlight on us, in big games, without a few key veterans.

Today's result could be what we need to drive improvement, stay humble and go to the next level.

Even great teams rarely sail through a season without hitting a speedbump or two. Better to find the chinks in the armour and be exposed now than in the playoffs when it's too late to do anything.

One can only hope that this loss will ignite something in them now that they’ve had a taste of losing. I kind of like that they have to sit in it for 10 days before hitting the field again.

Maybe they can use it as motivation to go out and destroy teams. Sometimes losing can be good.
