Denzel, Hawke and Fuqua together again since Training Day? I'm in.

That good huh? What made it so good?

The cast was perfect, their chemistry was amazing and it didn't feel like a remake from that standpoint. Also, for movie over 2 hours, it flew by with the last action sequence setting up perfectly!

I loved the idea of this movie (1960 version) but I always thought it was a little overrated. So, needless to say, I'm looking forward to this remake with the hope that they did a better job with their stellar cast than Sturges did with the non-original "original". I liked the previous version but that's a given seeing as I'm a fan of Horst Buchholz, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and Eli Wallach.

Forget all the western versions and just watch 7 Samurai. ;)

Really good. I loved all the nods to old school and spaghetti westerns. The director really tried to lend as many 'old tricks' to this as possible. You can tell he's a big fan of westerns. Wasn't a perfect movie, but I really enjoyed it!

I thought it was a pretty solid western... maybe a little long and i would have liked to see a little more from the villain. But it definitely delivered a kick-ass finale, although all I could think during most of the "getting the town ready" section was "Sew Maria. Sew like the wind!"

Well, guess I won't use that quote in the guess that quote thread! :)

ha!

I also couldn't help but think of the fake town created in Blazing Saddles in a scene where Denzel came bursting out of a saloon on his horse. I mean... how the hell did he get in there in the first place?

Entertaining but pales compared to the original. Chris Pratt was great.

I will grant you that Cruise is a far superior actor to Nicholas Cage, who really doesn't qualify as an actor in my book.

Just something about Cruise that grates on me
Haha; this made me lol.

Solid entertaining film.
