Yeah. It's a tough call, but my gut says it's going down in the short term. If he tanks the stock, I might step up to the plate for a short term trade if it gets oversold. I just know if I were to get in now, it would guarantee me a loss and you with me.

I think they reject the offer, and he keeps the negative pressure on them or does something else unexpected. Who knows. Best of luck to you. Hopefully some news this weekend gets you a pop on Monday.
I feel exactly the same. I was tempted to put in a buy order but I know I'll cause it to crater too. lol. If the sale happens it's about $9 upside so it would be a nice return if it happens quick but I'm guessing it's going to take awhile and I don't believe in Twitter as a company enough to drop cash into them. Plus I think what's going to happen is the board will turn him down, Elon will dump his 9% and the price will tank for a bit.

All of the Wall Street analysts are downgrading too. Elon actually tweeted the Goldman Sachs $30 price target. He's a hoot.

Bad timing for any of this ish show to be happening with what's going on in the economy and stock market though IMO...I hate the distractions at times like these. Significant things are happening under the surface that people should be aware of...not Elon/Twitter drama.

crap! hopefully you didnt drive far to learn it
Luckily I didn't. It's only about 5 minutes from me though. My Keurig died this morning so I hit their website to see what models they carry. It was showing that they're closed. It was actually nice to see. I always bugs me when companies don't put up anything showing their hours changed due to a holiday or something.

I guess TSLA TWTR instituted a poison pill to block Musk.

If they get to the point of implementing it, that's bad news for shareholders. But maybe this will be enough to make Musk go away and the stock will stabilize, most likely at a lower price point. In any case, I'm prepared for this gamble to play out badly for me.

interesting deep thoughts while bored at work:

watch him buy over 15%, activate the poison pill and then retail comes in, buys up all the cheap shares and votes him to take over the company at next shareholder meeting.

Then: either shareholders stick while it goes private OR shareholders bought out at sale price which was I think $52 a share. If discounted poison pill shares are say, $30 a share, 58% increase

make em say uhhhhhhhhh

He states this is about free speech and not about money. That would prove it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was looking at the "Plus" version of that one. Costco has it for $140 and I think they give some extras too. It looks like it's the same model but with a 4 oz option that I don't care about and a slightly bigger reservoir. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow when they're back open.

I tweeted him a work around. Waiting still to see if he likes the idea. I offered to buy 14.9% of twitter if he gifted the funds to me and then I'd vote as his proxy. I doubt he'll bite but if he does... :)

The bigger reservoir would be nice, but, I love this thing and yeah, 4oz is useless.

Do you guys listen to the All In Podcast with Jason Calacanis, David Sacks, David, Friedberg, and Chamath? I've enjoyed it since I found it. This week's episode is all about Elon and Twitter and had an interesting conversation. At the end of it all of them* pretty much thought that the board is going to not do things correctly and that it's going to end up in the low $30s.

*Friedberg had to leave early and I forget if he said it too before he left.

I have this one. highly recommend.

I bought one today. So if it's not good I'm blaming you. ;)

A few interesting tidbits about the TWTR board this weekend. Board owns almost no stock. Some board member have never actually tweeted before.

Did you cut loose with the early bump?

Sort of. I've set a trailing stop of $1, which represents my current profit per share, so at worst I'll break even.

Edit: Uh, except apparently I forgot to do the final click, during which interval the price fell 30 cents, so I'm now exposed to a small potential loss.

The trade executed at the opening dip today, more than $1 below yesterday's high, but whatever. (I figured that was a danger, but wanted to make sure things didn't get worse.) I'll be satisfied with my little 3% profit and a few days of entertainment -- which, quite frankly, is more than I've ever expected to get out of Twitter, which I regard as a cesspool.
