I quit drinking beer and started drinking martinis to help get rid of the beer belly but also found there's way less of a hangover and that I could even remember what I did the night before

As for martinis I've found that I'm a (quality) vodka man. I'm a dirty man. Green olives but not stuffed with whatever that red **** is - we're talking garlic stuffed olives - which I have yet to find in any of the dives I frequent

Saving a lot of money too because I turned into a damn beer snob there at the end paying $10+ for a 6pk and everybody knows you can't just buy one 6pk

Absolute, Tito's, or Stoli
Grey Goose too rich for my blood

I never met a martini that I liked; I probably never will.

My favorite martini is called the Vesper:

3 oz Gin (I like Monkey 47 and Bombay Sapphire)
1 oz vodka (Stoli is a good mixing vodka)
1/2 oz Lillet Blanc
Shake with several ice cubes until really, really cold.
Add lemon twist as garnish.

Amazing.

When I drink vodka straight (iced) my favorites are:
- Reyka
- Froggy B
- Purity

I'll put those up against any other, including Stoli Elit, Jan-Marc XO, and others.

Love gin martinis

Will need to try they drink JF has above

Like them cold and very slightly dirty

My wife likes to smell them and can enjoy drinking about 1/3 of one

Not a frequent drink of mine at home, but will dive in a couple times a year

Love them as a night cap when traveling

Martinis are fantastic...at cleaning engine parts. :p

Sorry, no offense, I can only enjoy vodka if it's buried under the flavors of a spicy Bloody Mary with enough garnishes that it counts as an appetizer.

The wife loves the stuff and buys the Purity Vodka Joel mentioned. She even drinks a version of the Vesper at our local. It smells good at least.

I love Martinis and Gimlets. I like vodkas. Not a big fan of gin. My mother in law made me a gin martini and that was the only time I had gin. Tasted like battery acid to me. Never had gin since. I also like the olives with garlic, but LOVE olives with jalepenos or even habaneros!

Olives stuffed with pepperoni are delicious as well. (I just skip the martini altogether and eat the olives)
