I understand the logic behind the Boldin issue: He signed the contract

I understand the logic behind the Warner issue: 14 million per year is, arguably, way too much for an aging QB when we have Matt Leinart on the bench collecting a great deal of money

But to bring a young guy who is due for his first big Free Agency payday under the clear assumption that he is getting an offer (he even stated this expectation in a quote) and to just waste his time for a day and a half with a "meet and greet" is just downright bush-league. McFadden is widely considered the best CB in free agency and has clearly elicited interest from other teams. If you were him, wouldn't you be upset? If you were an agent, would you schedule visits like this in the future?

If a kid is out of our price range, just don't invite him Rod.

How do we know he didn't come in here and say, "I'm looking for about a 5 year 45 m contract. Are you interested?"

We said, "No."

The question I have is: are we even negotiating with him or the other two that were brought in yesterday????
All the board talk and blogs by Urban and Sommers have to do with Warner, Warner, Warner. What about McFadden??? TR I agree with you, why the hell bring them in if your are not really interested???

I'm actually more upset with this than the ongoing crap with Warner.

Because everyone already knew what he was asking for.:bang: The Ravens gave Foxworth who has 1 pick in about 50 games 7 per, so the team knew comng into this what McFadden would want.

To not even have anoffer prepared is pathetic, but I know nidan and 40 will have some reason why Rod was genius in flying the guy out here for absolutely nothing.

This is a strange FO to say the least.

We didn't even give him an offer when he came out under the assumption that he was going to get one.

Who said we didnt offer him a contract. Havent seen a single thing in print or heard a single thing on radio to say if he got or didnt get a offer. No one knows at this point in time.

Its a little premature to say anything reguarding McFadden. Maybe we made an offer and he declined it hoping to get more elsewhere. Maybe he came in with outrageous contract demands in hopes we'd be desparate enough to cave. Or maybe he said, I really like it here, but feel obligated to make my other visits, but will give you guys a chance to match any offer I get.

I wouldn't be surprised if the cards told him a ballpark contract structure and McFadden said, "Maybe. Let me see what the rest of the market offers. Let's keep in touch."

I'm not too bent about it. I'd love to have him, though.

This seems to be the way we've handled free agency over the last few years. I don't remember having anyone come in, and working out a contract on that given day.

I could certainly be wrong, but as I recall, we usually bring someone in, then work out a deal with them over the course of the following week.

I can kind of understand the frustration of wanting everything right away, but IMO, the title to this thread is a bit over the top.

We've just had a Superbowl season... the front office has earned a bit of trust from me.

Go Cards!!!

I haven't heard McFadden or his agent complaining about how they've been treated by the Cardinals.

I don't know why so many people here are acting so offended and self-righteous about it.

This thread is based on nothing but a lack of news. There is no proof that the Cards didn't make any offers. Lets all chill a bit and see how this plays out.

I keep hearing McFadden has gotten 2 contract offers in the 3-4 million dollar per year range and is not happy with that, thinking his value is greater. More a situation of a player overvaluing himself than an inept front office IMO. Card keep information on free agent moves, visits, etc to a minimum, so no news isn't surprising at all.

And of course you hear Warner Warner Warner, he is the biggest need this offseason.

So, are you his personal time manager? This is part of FA. Who knows what happenned in interviews. Maybe the coaches did not like something. Maybe there are negotiations going on.

Where do you keep hearing this? I haven't heard anything of the sort.

The Cards had yet to offer McFadden – who would battle Rod Hood for a starting job opposite Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie – a contract, but McFadden said he expected to hear some numbers sometime Monday afternoon.

McFadden said he had discussed other free-agent visits but none were “set in stone.” “First,” he said, “we’ll see what’s going on with the Cardinals.”

Good question, do you have an answer ?

It seems you are saying we aren't working on them, any reason for that ?

This was posted by Urban on tuesday march the 4th of last year

Tuman Signs; LaBoy Next?
Cardinals get blocking tight end and work to add pass rusher
By DARREN URBAN

The Cardinals signed tight end Jerame Tuman (left) Monday and are close to a deal with defensive end Travis LaBoy, who visited the team facility Monday (march 3rd).

So in Laboy's case: visit on monday, contract negotiations on the same day.
