Wonder if ARZ will make a waiver wire deal? Doug from Doug & Wolf is not a fan of Corbin and posed the question should ARZ look for a replacement outside the organization or stick with him and hope he turns it around this year and rebounds completely next year? He mentioned Verlander cleared waivers but that's not surprising considering his salary. He also posed the question how committed is ARZ to making a run, committed enough to take on Verlander's contract? No way IMO.

Interstingly, Corbin is currently 22nd in WAR for ERA qualified NL SP (29th for those with at least 100 IP). Outside of 2013, his ERA is often inflated by a high BABIP. At some point the organization needs to decide if he's a high BABIP pitcher, which would deflate his value, or if he's been extra unlucky and the peripherals are enough to keep trying.

The money is the big obstacle particularly for us. If DET has lowered their demands (in terms of prospects) he would be in HOU right now.
