Gotta think about modern era a bit, but i would include Tom Landry if there is room for a fifth! I might also consider a guy that went to 4 consecutive Super Bowls as well....Marv Levy. He was behind one of the really great passing offenses in history. The more I think about it Don Shula is in the family photo as well.

Those of us who go back that far realize that Coryell was one of the finest innovators of a passing offense that ever coached in the NFL. Not quite in the Paul Brown league but right up there.

Tony Dungy hasn't done anything. He won a Super Bowl, but his success in Tampa was because of Kniffin's defense, and his success in Indy has been because of the offense.

I like Belichick and Parcells, but Shanhan hasn't shown the ability to be anything without Elway. I don't understand why you don't have Joe Gibbs, and probably Mike Holmgren.

Belichick, Gibbs, Parcells, Holmgren. It's hard to keep Cowher off the list, but those four are probably the best of the current era.

Imo Tony Dungy, Lovie Smith, and Kiffin all deserve credit for developing the Tampa 2 defense. Let's not forget that Tony Dungy turned around two football clubs that were a complete mess before he got there.

I agree that I would choose Landry over Noll; however, would you put Landry over Shula? I don't think I can, although neither would make my top 4.

Too bad he didn't coach longer, as I think Madden could have been the greatest coach ever (.731 Career win percentage).

Of the current/recent NFL coaches, I think only Parcells and Belicheck warrent inclusion in the conversation.

Finally, not that he made my list, but I think Joe Paterno would have been my #5, for what it's worth.
