Marion, Banks for Ratliff, Perkins, Green, West and #5?

I dont know, Danny Ainge would probably try hard to trade #5 for Shawn Marion but Boston doesn't really have anything in terms of talent outside of Al Jefferson and Paul Pierce. Ah well Boston's #32 isn't horrible, can get you someone who should have been a first rounder for a cheap unguaranteed contract.

Would help us fill out our roster rather cheap though.

There's nothing left to trade anymore. The only thing we had to trade was the pick, and now we don't even get that.

Yeah, we can probably trade two picks we have left for cash and future considerations.

That's dan gadzuric + the 6th pick (Yi in this scenario) for boris diaw and the 24th pick

Poor bucks fans, talk about the kings of getting screwed, now they are so desperate for some serious multi-talent they will trade a #6 to us for diaw...

Dans contract is bad but not that bad, gets done a year ealier then diaw also. I would definately do that trade, and I would actually also hope that diaw did really really great for them like a small step up from last year at least.

Only stern can have the gall to screw over both the suns and milwaukee in the same important draft, the 2 biggest candidates for a break already after getting shafted so many times and he still screws BOTH of us. That son of a ..... stern! Makes me so angry!!!

I read somewhere (maybe the Arizona Republic) that the Suns only considered 16 players in the draft last year. If true, this is beyond stupid with the first of their two first round picks falling at #21. Yes, selling the second pick to sign TT (and not signing him) was the answer.

:barf:

I worry about the Suns scouting or maybe it's the GM... or lack thereof.

In case seattle gets Oden would you be interested in one of their young center (Petro/Swift or Sene)?

I like Petro/Swift. Really it's not a matter of who we like, but who D'Antoni likes.

I loved Sene last year and i still love his potential.

It would have to be part of a bigger deal though.

Like us getting Lewis and Sene for a package of players and picks not including Marion.

Cause no matter how much i dont like Marion game, we wouldnt be a better team trading him for Lewis.

And we really dont have much to trade straightup for Sene.

Portland takes Oden Period. Any "reports" in the future speculating otherwise will be pure b.s.

most of these trades are COMPLETELY unrealistic for the sheer face that Marion is NOT worth a lotto pick and a boatload of young talent.

Sorry to quote my own post, but I would follow this trade up with Barbosa/Jones/Pike to CHA for Wallace/Felton....

ummm....you could get EITHER Wallace or Felton with that package, not BOTH. you'd be hard pressed to find someone who'd trade Marion for Wallace straight up, so asking for Felton and Wallace for Barbosa is just ridiculous.

Portland - Marion/Banks for Aldridge/Rodriguez/LaFrentz
Boston - Marion for Ratliff/Green/#5
Houston - Marion/Diaw/#29 for McGrady/Battier
NJ - Marion/Banks for Jefferson/Williams/#17

Y'know, I don't know what the hell I was thinking now that I look back at that trade. I had to go back and verify that you didn't manipulate my post in the quote. I was trying to figure out if I had meant to include someone else in place of someone in that scenario, but I just can't figure out what the hell happened. I wish I could blame it on PWI, but that ain't it either....

I still say Marion/Banks for Aldridge/Webster/Outlaw would be a fair deal all the way around, but I would be more than willing to take back LaFrentz in order to get Aldridge with either Webster or Sergio (or both!)....

Seattle should just keep Lewis, they should play him at the 4.

Wilcox
Lewis
Durant
Allen
Ridnour

That can be 50 win team with the right coach.

In case Portland takes Durant at #1.

Oden
Wilcox
Lewis
Allen
Ridnour

Again a 50 win team probably..

Not so quickly.

The 1st lineup has 3 dominant jumpshooters. Except the 2001-02 Bucks (and they don't really qualify either since Cassell sometimes passed the ball too) when was the last time when a team builded like that won +45 games?

Washington is the closest team and they won 45 games in the much weaker East. I think that sooner or later Lewis must go.

The 2nd line-up... well, that's simply not gonna happen since the Blazers won't take Durant.

No Thank You

Thomas and Sefolosha haven't impressed me one bit, neither looks like he can be an allstar.

In fact Thomas does in several years while Sefolosha may become a solid all-around SG. Having said that it would be a huge step back for the Suns (saying that it would improve our defense and rebounding is a joke) and the Bulls would immediately challenge the Pistons.

Suns in 2006.

And in the late 90s.

Or the Mavs with Nash, Dirk and Finley.

And many others probably..

Seattle in 2005 or whatever the year was they made the playoffs with Lewis, Allen and Ridnour.

You can't be serious. Nash was the distributor of both teams.

Suns in the late 90's? How did that team have 3 big-time jumpshooters?

Seattle in 2005 or whatever the year was they made the playoffs with Lewis, Allen and Ridnour.

That's two dominant jumpshooters and a PG.

.........

sad but true. Any Marion deal will have to absorb some bad contracts...for that is exactly what Phnx is asking the other team to do.

yeah, i was analyzing the Marion to Portland idea, and its a hard one.

on one hand Marion IS worth 2 young pieces.....Aldridge and Webster would be fair. and any trade involving Marion to Portland would have to include LaFrentz. taking on his contract is worth a young talent right there. but is it realistic to see Portland give up THREE guys on rookie contracts just for Marion?

as fair as the trade is, it doesnt seem logical to me. and with Oden in the picture i'm almost positive Portland would rather deal Randolph and build with a front court of Aldridge/Oden

BUT......Marion/Banks/#29 for Aldridge/Webster/Rodriguez/LaFrentz seems like an all around fair trade value-wise. but it would be in Portland's best interest NOT to do it.

I think that you would have to throw in the Atlanta's pick next year to have them even think about doing that deal.

I still think under this scernio I would press hard for the following trade:

Suns Trade:
Shawn Marion 17 PPG 10 RPG 2 BPG
Boris Diaw 10 PPG 4 RPG 5 APG
#24
#29
#1 next year (our pick)

Suns Recieve:
Kevin Garrnet 22 PPG 12 RPG 3 BPG

Even though we will have to sign Garnett to an extention (I think he would ask for around 13-15 million a year basically marion money alone) but it would give him a chance to win a championship.

The T-wolves get an all-star, a potential triple double every night, and 3 picks for a fading superstar that was going to leave anyway... Its by far the best deal they could hope for..

The key here is for the suns to convince Stat that this is a good thing... IMO he would need to sign off on this trade first, but if he did, this team would fix its finacial situation for the future (losing Diaw 9 million dollar contract would be huge) and give us the best shot at the title the next 5 years

PG: Nash/Barbosa
SG: Bell/Barbosa
SF: JR/POsey
PF: Stat/KT
C: KG/KT

That is a lineup 8 deep, a veteran team (KT, Nash, Bell, Posey, KG) with young budding superstars as well (Stat, Barbosa)... And we still keep the ATL pick where we can pick up a Franchise PG, or a swingman in next years draft (common Michael Beasley!!!) and the suns would be set!

That is a decent trade. Especially if we still hold on to the Atlanta pick.

Why would MN take that trade? They don't receive much in cap relief, or enough young talent to rebuild.
