to solve this discussion:

49ers 3-1
Cardinals 1-2

that says it all. 49ers won opening game. enough said

Broncos 4-0 enough said

Then you've already won the division then. The next 12 games don't mean anything. Congratulations

3-1 doesn't mean %#$@ at this point in the season sorry! They have a lousy offense with a good D how long is that going to get you wins? They actually have to play teams that are good now that they got a few easy wins on poor competition. The main difference betwees US and the Niners is that we have the ability to dominate a team on BOTH sides of the ball not just rely on D which usually can't win games for you against real competition!

Don't you think our record would be better if we got to start with the Rams, injured Seahawks, an injured Cards team? Yeah would be willing to bet if they started with our schedule they would be sitting at 1-2 like we are!

Yes.....I think our biggest enemy is ourselves. Whether we are too confident or just under performing. The consistency in our play is horrendous. If the team can put the pieces of the puzzle together (and get a freaking running game going) this team will be fine.

Niner fans are funny...

"um no it doesn't, Maybe i should've said he did.
Hill was :02 from winning that game in Minnesota, without a running game."

so do you have a running game or not (Gore did not run all over us when healthy) and that is the whole point, you do not have a QB and with Hill and Smith as your QBs you will be looking at every draft going "gee, maybe we should draft him"

and lastly, being a Cardinal fan makes me know the word 'almost' real good...it means you did not win in the end. Our kicker almost made a fieldgoal to win the division in '84 so I guess that means we won the division right? We almost beat the Steelers which means we won the Superbowl right? So under your conclusions you should feel really good. You beat the Superbowl champions in your first game and you beat the Vikings because almost saves you :D

First of all, I am not employed by the 49ers or Cardinals. I pay to advertise the cardinals everyday when I dress in my Cardinal gear bought off nfl.com. I can't win a thing for the Cardinals. My statement shows that the 49ers are winning & the Cardinals are not. These are facts. Being a Cardinals fan for over 30 years, I have grown out of the could've, should've phase. I am now in the fact stage of life. The Cardinals are not playing winning football. That is a fact.

Yes we have a running game, just ask seattle. Gore didn't play in the Minnesota game.

Yeah but I remember Shaun Hill leading game winning touchdown drive against Arizona. Gore did catch the game winning touchdown from Shaun hill in the 4th quarter.

My team has never lost a super bowl...can't help you there.....

I do. The defense let down Shaun Hill in the Minnesota game in the final two seconds of the game. Plus the 49ers put up a better showing against the Minnesota Vikings, than the Green Bay Packers.
Cheers!

^Just the type of crap post you'd expect from a niner honk! Revel in your 3-1 because its not going to last long, your team will be under .500 when we meet on Monday night! As much as you niner honks think its going to be a big game, its really probably not and we will be exacting a little revenge for the cheap win you got when we were not healthy! Good luck even winning 8 games this year that would be at best!

If your implying I have sour apples, you are wrong. Think about it: why is it we picked these two teams to discuss about hot starts? Why aren't we talking about the Colts, Vikings or Ravens? Because we know they can sustain success. Its because the Broncos and 9ers were predicted to be mediocre, but have exceeded expectations. Last season, the entire planet, including many of us, were elated that the Cards started 2-0 and we felt overconfident. Naturally, we lost the next two games and doubt started to arise. I posted the schedules for both teams for the next four games and they both look like a gantlet. If they truly are an upper echelon team, they will take care of business. If not, they will be brought back to earth.

Sure the 49ers stats look good, but they are 28th in passing offense. Meaning that if they get behind by 2 possessions, they are essentially screwed.

I will gladly eat crow if they sustain this success for the rest of the 1st half of the season, but I'm not ready to "crown their ass" just yet.

All I am saying is give them Kudos for what they have done to date. When we went on the win streak last year and were way out in front of the rest of the division we bitched becasue no one gave us any respect. Now we are doing the same thing to the Broncos and Niners based on the same reasons no one gave us any respect. Isn't that calling the kettle black?

Both teams may very well fall on their butts but they may not. At this point they are winning games and in the NFl that is all that counts. How you win them is irrelevent. The 85 Bears won the Super Bowl on defense and a strong ground game. Singletary 85 Bears sounds to me like he is building this team the same way.

I am not saying they have already won the division but they certainly have a good start on it.

Agreed.

And both teams have the recepie for winning in the NFL. I would not call either team a fluke.

Try again, not once have I come here and stated the 49ers that we are going to win the superbowl, make the playoffs, or have a winning season.....I haven't done much boasting about a 3-1 record.
Good luck to the Cards and fixing that Oline!;)
Adios!

The only two games that really seperate our schedules this year between US & the 9ers of course is we go to the giants on a Sunday night game and play the panthers at home. Both won their divisions last season.

While the 9ers get the falcons this week at the stick and December 20th play the Eagles in Philly.I'm sure McNabb will be back fully healthy for that game and that team will have gelled even more on both sides of the ball.

I'd say we both got two tough games to play.I just don't like going to philly to play anytime. They had such a great offseason in free agents and especially in the draft. The top two rookies are already helping the team out.I'm sure by that game they will end up making that a Nationally televised game probably since its the third to last week in the season.Just like a playoff game.

I think with the Falcons having the bye week the sametime we did last week to prepare for the hardnosed 9ers will benefit them and get them ready for a playoff type game this week too.9ers also have at colts and at packers who have a tremendous passing game,Rogers has nothing to hang his head about in the vikings game.

Can Patrick Willis continue to have the defensive player of the year status all season? He is coached by one of the best who also coached Ray Lewis and was himself a HOF linebacker.Plus Clements is playing out of his mind too. I just wonder about a Jimmy Raye style of offense going all the way to the SB.Teams are gonna start to do more than the rams did last week against the 9ers.The offense is gonna have to be able to put up that many points instead of the defense and turnovers. Can they?

Maybe it will be closer than I think.I wish the CARDINALS had a team leader at MLB.Hayes can lead with tackles but just isn't that type of a guy to play the rah rah style for the rest of the team.Dansby is probably thinking too much about his big payday next season. If he expects to get one he better double his efforts from this season so far.A-Dub is a quiet leader that needs to get his game back on track and put in better situations to succeed and help the team more.Dockett is gonna be the guy that needs to lead by example and bring this defensive unit to a new level.

We'll need to start to score on defense and start making the turnovers we did last year if not better once again.Rolle should have his position down pat by now.No excuses. No freelancing.Maintain your reads better and tackle better. We all know you can take it to the house IF you can get the ball.Let that part come to you.Quit trying to force it.

I can only hope McFadden can teach DRC some things this year.He has'nt had a good start. Its more of a mental challenge so far this year for DRC.What is he thinking? IS HE?Humility would be first.Don't try and bait the other qb with your recovery speed. You get beat everytime. You can do that in the panthers game in a lil' over two weeks.

It'd be great to have two teams from the NFC West in the playoffs but Eagles,Bears,Falcons,9ers,CARDINALS will all be in the wild card hunt.Who knows what happens to the giants now?Everyone had already crowned them champs of the NFC.Injuries are hitting them hard now.:D
