Bruce Arians is doing it again. A year ago, he helped turn the Indianapolis Colts from the worst team in the N.F.L. to a playoff team. Hired as the team’s offensive coordinator, he was named the Associated Press coach of the year after Chuck Pagano, who was found to have leukemia, took a leave of absence. The Arizona Cardinals hired Arians as their head coach after firing Ken Whisenhunt, and Arians is again a viable candidate for the award.

Only one person has ever won Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons. Don Shula won it in 1967 & 1968. BA has a good shot to do it.

I'm going to enjoy the props until we inevitably--well, you know what happens.

You know what, I'm not feeling that now. If there was ever a time for it to happen, it should have been last Sunday. Those guys were all over the place. Keim was on 4 or 5 shows, Dockett on 2 or 3 shows, Dansby, PP, Honey Badger, Fitz, BA. Those guys got more face time last week than a $20 hooker at a Japanese CEO retreat. Yet we came out of it totally unscathed. I was biting my nails at kickoff, just waiting for the inevitable 3-ring circus blooper reel to go off. It never happened.

The only other thing I can think of, maybe the football gods were busy smoting somebody else and didn't have time to get to us. Maybe they read some of Ursay's tweets and thought he should take priority. But I don't know. That sounds like kind of a stretch. It really feels like the curse is lifted. There must be something about BA's mojo that scares it off. But just in case...

So I'm watching a day-old replay of Letterman with Chris "Mad Dog" Russo as his guest.

Even Doggie had nice things to say about the Cardinals. (Scary stuff).

That's crazy. I caught the end of that interview. It was pretty funny. The guy was talking about Brady vs Manning, the Yankees, stuff that would matter to a NY/national audience. I had no clue he would mention the Cardinals. I'll have to see if that's still on the dvr.

I was going to ask what Tom Jackson thinks of this but I couldn't find a picture of him with a perturbed look on his face.

I just hope this stuff doesn't jinx us so that Arians ends up like Gene Stallings did in 1988.

What worked in our favor was that Dave hails from Indiana and roots for the Colts, so it was natural for Russo to bring up Cards - Colts. He could have been dismissive of the Cards, but said nice things.
