You guys might think I'm crazy (and admittedly, I probably am) but I wouldn't mind us bringing him to camp to compete for a roster spot (but not a guaranteed one).

He's got skills, and plenty of game left...but we'd look kind of, well, silly having two former Bengals QB's on our roster...

I don't know if it is as silly as having two Cards Qbs on your roster....memo to Denver: Don't bring in Dave Brown!

Heck bring him in you never know I'm sure he'd beat out Parsons and maybe and when I say maybe I mean probably beat out McCown. You never Know!

how much do you pay him compared to parsons though? how much do you want to pay your third string qb?

to replace mccown, I say no. the kid might still develop into our future qb.

Do we know why Akili has struggled?

Does he lack athleticism?

Is it an attitude thing?

Is he dumb?

Is it a confidence thing?

Have he and Bengal coaches been at odds?

Sometimes a change of scenery can make a huge difference (Spell it: K E R R Y C O L L I N S).

If there's a better than even chance Akili can be coached up to be productive, heck yes we should bring him in. Otherwise forget it.

I think Smith was just a wildly overrated college player who only had one good season.

See: Palmer, Carson. In 4 years.

Ok, this has become totally anti-climatic!

Only one official release so far?!?!?!?

GM's around the league had better get a move on, it's almost lunchtime!

June 1 has become little more than one great big letdown over the past few years.

Graves was foolish to bank on finding any talent from the June 1 pool.

No one in the NFL has to release anyone today to get under the salary cap. What releases do happen will trickle out over the next six weeks as teams sign draft picks and have to make room. But, there's very few teams, compared to past years, that HAVE to cut people to sign rookies.

Very true. The titans are in that boat. They are $900,000 under the cap now, but need to free up another $2 million for rookies, plus they want to re-sign P Craig Hentrich, and backup QB Neil O'Donnell (which is double important now, in case McNair gets suspended for a few games), which will take another million.

They are in no hurry, but need to get the picks/Hentrich/O'Donnell signed this month (best case).

The 49ers released two veteran players Monday -- wide receiver J.J. Stokes and defensive end Junior Bryant -- to clear up cap room.

Let's not bring in another "potential" candidate that has scrambling ability and college credentials (ala Jake Plummer)... We have everything now revolving around Blake as a temp solution. McKown has POTENTIAL too, let him learn and stay in the system for another year, Parsons really is a great athlete with a very strong arm... another year in the system and he more than adequate as a third string QB... hell if we get that far down the food chain we are in deep *&^^%^ anyway.

Next year may offer some better options at QB upgrades.. let's make our efforts to keep the other teams points LOWER and maybe pick up a veteran reciever for a year or two.

Patience for one more season will not kill us... you know damn well that the Cardinals will do everything they can to make this team competitive before the stadium year... enjoy the fact that football is finally about to begin...
