Not a FIFA international date, so we'll be treated to a bunch of MLSers.

Also, Julian Green is training with the team for the Ukraine friendly.

Yawn. The Centennial crest is so much better.

Roster for the Ukraine exhibition to be played in Cyprus

Goalkeepers: Cody Cropper (Southampton), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton).
Defenders: John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Tijuana), Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt), Oguchi Onyewu (Sheffield Wednesday), Will Packwood (Birmingham City), Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers).
Midfielders: Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Besiktas), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Brek Shea (Barnsley), Danny Williams (Reading),
Forwards: Juan Agudelo (Utrecht), Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Julian Green (Bayern Munich), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar).

Almost exclusively Euro based (Dempsey just finished his loan a few days ago). Interestingly, Green is listed as being on the roster despite that he is not eligible to play. Bradley, Diskerud, and Ream will not play (minor injuries). Spector was added to the roster in their place. First caps (should they play) would go to Cropper and Packwood.

WTH US Soccer?

It is way better than that red and blue one above. It looks classy.

Location
Beyond the sun.
Ninety-nine days until Brazil. The attendance was so small in Cyprus, in an attempt to save time, they decided to introduce the fans to the players. Ukraine would be a good test as possibly the best national squad not going to the World Cup.

The US could have very easily been down three goals at half-time. John Brooks looked big, strong, fast and horribly inexperienced. The commentators assigned him blame for the first goal, but the late run from deep midfield could fault Jermain Jones, Sasha Kljestan or Oguchi Onyewu. The Kljestan and Onyewu performances for the rest of the game (and in the past) should be the end of their international call-ups. The same could be argued for Alejandro Bedoya and his slow recognition to an offside trap that should have allowed a second early goal. Poor play by Edgar Castillo showed how weak the left back is still. Jurgen Klinsmann likes to play Fabian Johnson in the midfield, but he may have to award the left back to Fabian, by default.

In the second half, Jeff Cameron had a great cross to Jose Altidore's head. Jose showed his current form by directing the ball off target. The second Ukraine goal was just a complete cluster hump by the US defense. Clint Dempsey honored the Captain's armband by playing disinterested, with the exception of one burst of passion in a punk-like cheap shot during a foul.

Brek Shea, Aaron Johansson, Danny Williams, Juan Aguedelo added energy and aggression as substitutes, without results.

Yes, it was just a friendly at the time of year no player wants to be injured, but Klinsmann should tell this squad that only Tim Howard earned a place to Brazil, with their performance.

Yeah, pretty sobering game, all in all. Johnson should be LB, Cameron RB, no questions asked.
