The Baltimore Orioles let a lame duck general manager engineer the most important trade deadline in recent franchise history, showed interest in some of the most uninspired executive candidates on the market, attended the GM Meetings without yet having a new GM, and somehow still managed to land the best possible candidate on the market. The Orioles have hired Mike Elias to as Executive Vice President and General Manager, and he'll be given full autonomy to oversee all baseball operations.
