I think Boldin could go to any team that offers the best deal except the NFC West teams. We play them twice a year and trading any of them Boldin just isn't going to happen. I think trading him to the AFC is certainly most favorable but if an NFC team makes the best offer the Cards would take it.

ASUChris, don't misread my rather curt references to Harry's and Jeff's opinions as lack of respect. We all go way back in association and they know how highly I and many others regard their contributions.

Jeff is usually the calming voice of reason and was the guiding guru of the original Card's corner on AOL. He never would write for us despite my pleadings, preferring to focus on his Big Red Sheet http://azcardinal.com/ Jeff's draft setup is my non-draftnik's bible. It's different in concept. Check it out.

Harry is older than dirt and has football writing credentials about yeeeaaa long. Not counting his for-pay jobs, he was contributing to azprosports.com and Rivals before that and I begged him to keep writing for us. I always wanted him to write more than he did.

The old timers around here were in the azprosportts.com chat room on draft day as Harry called every damned one of our picks right before we made them. Freaky.

I hear ya. Good stories, it's amazing that many here have been around since azprosports, and for some of you the old AOL site.

Some of us have been around so long our first internet board get together was the year Jake Plummer was drafted. Met at the rockin' rodeo. Later that year we had an even larger gathering for the Dallas "take back our stadium game" that the Cards won 25-22 in OT. Breaking a 13 game losing streak vs Dallas. Still have a pic of the scoreboard in my office.

Little did we know that early September game would be the highpoint of the season.

What I've been saying is that teams are: (a) enamored with their own draft boards; (b) loathe to give up picks and big money to a WR with injury questions (whether any of us agree with those questions or not, they are out there); (c) looking at the best crop of WRs with first/second round talent to come along in a while; (d) and perhaps even leery of having to deal with another disgruntled Drew Rosenhaus WR client.

I do not forsee any team offering a first in this year's draft for Q.

I do. There are quite a few teams that believe that their window is very, very short and if they believe that they are one piece away from getting over the hump. They don't have the patience to let a player develop, they need an established player now.

Since they are going to use a first rounder on a WR anyway, why not get a Pro Bowl WR that can help you now? With that mindset they are only giving up a 3rd rounder (maybe slightly more) for an established player vs a rookie who may or may not contribute immediately.

I'm not sure the Cards will get a trade that they like but I doubt its from a lack of teams trying. They aren't giving Q away

Mitch you cant actually believe this. What is you rsponse to a LT like Peters and a inferior player in Williams getting significantly more? And this is actually more of a feeding frenzy for Q so I just dont' see it.

If you are in fact right that Cardinals won't make the trade. I honestly believe that.

It's interesting to see what is being offered. I heard John Clayton on an overnight radio show and he said the Giants were offering a 2nd and a 5th.

He did say he believed that Q would be traded and that he would end up in Baltimore.

An interesting side note from Clayton was that the Cardinals would have to get maybe a bigger offer from the Giants than another team for Boldin because there are some hard feelings about some things that Giants management has said about the Cardinals.

I'm not sure who said it but when pressured about picking up Boldin they said that they didn't know why it was so important because the Cards had Boldin and Fitzgerald and they didn't win anything.

Clayton said this was unfair as the Cards were a hair away from winning the SB and the Giants were a hair away from losing the 08 SB.

Clayton said the Cardinals organization was justifiably proud of their accomplishments this past season and were upset about the slight and not in a hurry to do business with the Giants.

It was Jerry Reese who said something along the lines of you don't need good receivers just look at who won the Super Bowl. Some posters on the Big Blue board were calling him an idiot for saying that. After all as they pointed out, Pittsburgh has Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes and Holmes WAS the Super Bowl MVP.

The Steeler defense did slow down the Cardinals but given another minute or two on the game clock I like the Cardinals chances to come back and win that game.

I think the longer that this draws out, the less likely we are going to get a first or good picks if we trade him.
