Shame they didn’t sideline Bradford earlier in the game to discuss all his errors.
While Bradford is an easy scapegoat at this point, what does it mean that he was turned into a turnover prone mess? I mean, he has his shortcomings but throwing interceptions and fumbling haven't usually been a problem. I mean, isn't his M.O. that he won't put up a lot of points but he won't turn the ball over and hurt the team?

Does it mean that he was being asked to operate outside of his comfort zone or that the offense wasn't good or that it just wasn't a good pairing? Throughout a tumultuous career this is still the first time he's ever been benched.

Did.t last year BA say he wanted Johnson to get 30 touches a game. Of course BA was a good coach who knew how win football games. Not some PC cliché driven hack.

Just heard on the radio that DJ told media today the reason he wasn't in there - he had a mental error on the previous play where he failed to pick up a blitz (or missed a block). Coaches took him out so he could have a conversation with the running backs coach.

Now we can put the topic to rest!

DJ being a good employ ... nothing to see expect a coaching Staff that shouldn't coach at all.

Kick Steve Keim out, get a person in that is not involved into fotball at all for the rest of the season and that can make "unorthodox" moves that improve the team on the long term ... but gosh ... something, because McCoy and Wilks aren't really good for anyone.

Never complain, never explain.

They explained, which promptly ads further credence to the adage. The explanation only cements the error now and before we could only guess. Bravo.
And in the process heaps more blame on a player instead of taking responsibility for a dumb decision.

Watching the 3rd and 2 play it fails because no one blocks #98 RDT (Bilal Nichols) on the play. Cole and Wetzel block the LDT Akiem Hicks #96 and Humphries and Iupati block the RDE #95 (Roy Robertson-Harris). They have Pugh come across to block the ROLB #99 (Aaron Lynch) and they pull Ricky Seal Jones to lead block for Edmonds. They have Fitz and Kirk coming across behind the line from the far side to also lead block but neither get there in time because they are too far away. In the meantime #98 has a free and clear road to Edmonds who hesitates because there is no blocking in front of him allowing Nichols to catch him from behind. #37 the CB and #38 the SS also have a free run at Edmonds. No one touches Nichols and in fact Seal Jones runs past him in his effort to get out in front of Edmonds. The fact is even if DJ was in there this play had failure written all over it. I am not excusing the fact that they didn't have DJ in there however it is such a poorly designed play that even Barry Sanders would have failed to get a first down. #37 and #38 reacted to the play and stepped up before Fitz and Kirk could get anywhere near to block them. The CB and SS read and step up less than two seconds after the snap. All Edmonds could see in front of him were 4 white jerseys and one red one and one behind him he couldn't see who made the tackle. Why the play calls for a double team on the LDT and no one to block the RDT who is closer to the play makes no sense at all unless someone missed an assignment and I don't think that lineman was pulled off the field before the next play so they could have a teaching moment. Bottom line is it's a horrible play that should be tossed from the playbook.

third and two . The game is on the line.

What do you do?

You trick the opposition into thinking you're going to pass because no way you run with DJ on the bench and some scrub 4th round rookie RB in the game.

Edmonds takes the handoff, shocking the Bears defense, and runs all the way to the endzone.

McCoy is hailed a genius.

It just didnt work out this time.

Some “trick.” Sultan, do you really think that McCoy’s thinking that using a subpar player would effectively lull the Bears defense into not paying attention to Edmonds? Because that’s what you’re saying, right?
