You made this thread simply to start a flame war. Period. You knew when you wrote it that your attempt to pat yourself on the back would be met with hostility.

Why would I think I'm starting a flame war and be met with hostility by suggesting the refs are better with calls now? I would only be thinking that if fans were hypocritical about the refs to begin with....no?

Well let's see ... the NBA has had one official arrested for his involvement in a point shaving gambling scandal, another get suspended for calling a technical because of his ego, and have an official that has been rated among the bottom 5 officials since she has been hired. NBA officiating deserves every criticism it gets.

Teams can no longer hope for a well officiated game since its highly unlikely. They now have to hope that it is equally awful on both sides or that they are worse for the opposing team.

Yeah the Suns won but the giant elephant in the room that is the piss-poor officiating in the league isn't going away any time soon.

I want to add that i really liked all the technicals Suns got in the last few games. They had to do something about all the non-calls. Evidently Mr. Nice gut Steve Nash, Amare, Barbosa, Diaw approach did not work and I am glad they did something about it. I hope that someone gets ejected where a questionable call or better yet a bad call is made in the game. that would really bring atention on the refs and they would be more 'careful' when calling ticky-tack fouls on the Suns.
Shaq is not getting any respect either and he is getting back to form. He has to pick up a couple of T's to get their attention. I truly believe this is a huge part of the game - knowing when and how much to complain to the refs. I am sure we all have seen many 'make-up' calls which tells me refs are can can be encouraged to make 'right' calls. Its part of the game just ask the Spurs.

How you guys feel about this?

Andrew was the one that did all the complaing about the refs? That seems hard to believe.

No he was the one who created the unnecessary threads that you are talking about. Everyone else is still complaining in the game thread and ironically in your unnecessary thread.

At least the refs sucking has lead to Amare/Mark Price to get a ton of freethrows.

Do you actually watch games or just read boxscores? The NBA is rife with bad calls, fans are lucky when they dont determine the outcome of the games. Maybe you should consider that fans are so used to bad calls that they only complain when the players dont determine the outcome of the games.

So pokerface, what do you think of Raja getting the boot tonight? Everything in order for you?

Raja smiles, gets ejected. AI screams at a ref, nothing.

Amare throws his arms down in disgust, he gets a technical. Camby makes the same gesture, nothing.

The refs were not applying the same standards to both teams. It was ridiculous. Absolutely no excuse for the way the refs handled the T’s.

Also, I thought slapping the backboard as you hang on the rim after a dunk was a technical foul...TWICE in two games Kenyon Martin does so with nary a blink by the ref.

Fouls: suns 29 nuggets 27

Fairly close... just seems the suns were in the penalty earlier or used their fouls on shots.

Or the officials called more fouls when Denver was shooting, and the calls against Denver were away from the ball or not while shooting.

Correct. That was what i meant by the suns getting their fouls on shots (denver shots)

I know. I just said it a different way...anytime a Nug set foot in the paint with the ball, a whistle blew...whether there was a Sun there or not...:D

Same story as every game: Nash gets molested on every possession: no calls. We sneeze on the opposition's star player and we get called for a foul

if you ask a dallas fan...you hear the same for them. Lakers, spurs, celts etc etc

Officiating across the board is not up to par. However, the constant blaming of the officials for losses gets old.

Look how many people here are blown away that bell got ejected. There isnt a player on any team that WOULDNT get ejected in that instance when UPSTAGING a ref like he did. Come on.

It's bad for everyone. You have keep your composure.
