Still trying to figure out what's new here?
yes the NCAA people said some bad things in emails, comparing the case to the OKC bombings is over the top.
But, effectively the NCAA knew Bush took money and strongly believed USC knew. Why? Because they believed the agent had a relationship with Todd McNair. When they asked McNair he said I'd never met him. Then the agent gave them a pic of the 2 together. THey asked McNair and he said people ask me to take pics with them all the time, I don't know him, have never spoken to him. Then the agent gave them phone records that proved he spoke to McNair by cellphone the same day that pic was taken(the agent called McNair). McNair first denied it and then said it may have been a wrong number, he had no idea how the guy had called him.
Now consider the story and this is a guy(mcNair) who was charged twice with breeding dogs for fighting pre Michael Vick. Both times they couldn't prove their case but referred the case to the Feds because they were so sure he was involved in dog fighting. You're the NCAA who do you believe, a slimy wanna be agent who has pictures, phone records and documents, or a guy who was involved in dogfighting and admitted he didn't tell USC until after the Vick story came out?
So yes the NCAA was prejudiced, they looked at the parties involved and decided they were all bad people but McNair appeared to be far worse than the agents, they had clear evidence that contradicted McNair's story, so they decided he was lying to protect himself and USC.
I think his case is wrong. He's not unemployed because the NCAA put a one year show cause on him, he's unemployed because when this story came out, suddenly people found out about the dog fighting charges in his past and he became unemployable. Who in their right mind was going to hire a coach who was involved in that, they were going to get crucified in the media?
If USC is so sure McNair was railroaded, why haven't they hired him back, the show cause ended 4 years ago. USC contended the NCAA lied because in one of their listings in the case they accidentally said that McNair called the agent, when it was the agent calling McNair. That's their entire case that the NCAA lied, they have the phone records they know they spoke and they know the agent called. Either way it still disproves McNairs claim he never spoke to the agent, and the picture was some one asking for a pic with him because he's "famous."
I think it's pretty obvious the NCAA knew McNair's past, decided he was lying and since Bush wouldn't cooperate and McNair was lying, they assumed McNair knew. in a court of law that's not enough, but this is not a court of law it's an NCAA case.
Still amazed USC fans don't blame bush, if nothing happened why in the world has he not come out and helped USC make that case?
