Is it possible Cards fans have overvalued DRC?

I think many of them have. Seriously this board was nearly overrun last season with "Man DRC has sucked this year" posts.

DRC was good, I loved him he was one of my favorite players, but he was by no means a "shutdown" corner. He got burned a lot and his technique is actually pretty bad, people forget that he just made up for it with his speed. Thats great until he starts to age and his speed starts to fade.

I've also heard it suggested that he doesn't "Fit in to Hortons defense" I dont know if that's true because I dont know what kind of defense Horton is gonna throw out there and I dont know if DRC fits into it.

Again, DRC was good and he was a core player, but if Kolb plays as well as Fitz expects him to, then we got a franchise QB for a CB and a LATE second round pick.

It all hinges on if Kolb plays well. If he wins, Graves is a genius, if he doesn't Graves will probably lose his job, so hey, the Graves critics should be happy cuz they win either way!

The deal is done so as fans shouldn't we all just be hopeful that Kolb makes it worth it?:D

Go to a lot of message boards around the NFL, and the consensus is that we are overvaluing Kolb.

Obviously, they'd better be wrong or this could be a body blow that hurts us for years.

Most message boards treat every single Card move as the wrong one.

Screw message boards. We all know how wrong most of us around here usually are, and I would say this bunch is a bit more intelligent overall than say, Philly boards. Sports forums bring out the dumbest of the dumb.

It's just another of a series of need-based desperation moves we've seen in the Ken Whisenhunt /Rod Graves era IMO. The desperation stems in part from a very poor front office IMO. They have absolutely no leverage with Larry Fitzgerald dating back to the bizarre rookie contract his agent negotiated. And they have little leverage with the Eagles because they lusted after Kevin Kolb during the entire lockout to the exclusion of all other alternatives. It is what it is. Hopefully Kolb develops into a decent quarterback.
