Seattle's stadium is completely open aired and they're considered the loudest in the league so the open roof shouldn't be any excuse.

Do you live in a hut??? It is widely known that Seattle stadium is architecturally designed to deflect noise towards the field it's artificially created....

It's still open aired. Oh, and we just won there so again playing home with an open roof isn't any excuse. I mean, really? What tactical advantage does this give Cincy?

Exactly.

I seem to recall the roof being closed when the "Almighty Warner and the Cards" were trounced by backup QB Tavaris Jackson and the Vikings.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to find out that they asked Palmer or Arians about the roof and they said - "Who cares?" or "Open that baby up!!"

Go Cards !!! I for one will be bringing the noise as always !!!

I was at that game and specifically remember the roof was open that day... and people blaming it for being the reason we lost.

Plus it looks great on TV. :).

Agree, I've always thought it was stupid to fly the blimp over any domed stadium.

Cards will win anyway rendering the protestations mute.

It's not fun when the roof is closed? Hmm

It's okay, but seriously it feels like we play in a sterile warehouse and not a football stadium. I love it when the roof is open. Really wish it were a true outdoor football stadium most of the time, but that was never going to happen for the team to satisfy the "country club" style of fans they wanted to attract to the new place. Meh.

Good memory. Looked it up and it was open - which was unusual for Warner's team. He usually cried and whined so much that it was closed. Maybe this game was the last straw because after that it was closed for the playoff games.

Here is what people really blamed for the loss - and I was there and remember this as well:

I doubt the roof being open hurt us very much, but the mass ticket scalping by you Cardinal fans in AZ certainly made matters worse. Way to give up the 12th man. Watching on TV here in Ohio I could hear "Let's go Vikings" on numerous occasions. Unacceptable.

Wasn't the roof open for MNF in 2008 vs SF? Won that one

Ugh! That was the most visiting fans I have ever seen. I mean it. It looked, felt and sounded like more than the Cowboys, Steelers, even packers. Seriously, when me and my Dad were tailgaiting we had already noticed it like; man what the heck? That was the most disasterous day of Cardinals football we ever had. The tailgate was a disaster our generator wouldn't start. The tire on my dads truck wend flat before our very eyes while we were tailgaiting, and my Dad spent the entire hour before the game in the port o potty because he had the flu.

I remember him saying as we were sitting down in the stadium; Well I hope our day gets better! It didn't. :(

The stadium was as close to 50% opposing fans as I have ever seen and I had season tickets for almost 20 years between SDS and UofP It was insane. Then we got annihilated. Man that game was such a bummer.

As for the roof, I'm just not buying into this whole issue. IMO this is superstitious nonsense that was started by Kurt because that man was like unable to play in anything more than a light breeze.

Where are their stats/records open vs. closed listed? I mean, even if it is skewed one way or another I still have a hard time believing that the roof was the direct cause for the loss. Who's to say we wouldn't have won/lost those games anyways? I mean did anyone ever elaborate? "We lost cuz the roof was open..." But why? "Cuz it was open and we lose when it's open!" lol

I mean seriously, if we lose this game tomorrow and the first thing Arians or any of the players say is; "Its because the roof was open." I'm going to lose a ton of respect for everyone on our side.

Believe what you want to believe ofcourse, as always! For me this is a load of superstitious hooey. Yeah that's right I said hooey!

To everyone going to the game tomorrow, thank you for being fans and be as LOUD as you can the whole game please! We need to show SNF that Seattle isn't the only loud stadium in this division. (Even if the roof is open)

Go Cards!

It's not superstition or hooey, it's reality. The Cardinals have a MUCH bigger home field advantage with the roof closed.

I would assume the reason is that it increases the noise level the fans are able to generate. Perhaps there are other factors that are difficult to track.

Nobody has suggested that anyone would use an open roof as an excuse for losing. But every team wants to maximize their home field advantage, and for whatever reason, closing the roof maximizes the HFA for the Cardinals.

Will there be many Cinci fans in there tonight? I know tickets are gold dust but that may not stop fans that would/are used to paying over the odds for road teams. Not sure how well this lots fans travel traditionally.

2 things with the lid being off. Firstly, if people are going with the mind set that a we need to be louder and secondly demand for tickets means there a re few hundred or a thousand less Bengals fans it will negate the roof situation anyway.

Just be loud you handsome people :)

Look at Dalton's night game performances. I'm sure they just want to reinforce to him that it is in fact a night game.

Colder and less
Noise
Hmmmmmmmm rather closed

Colder? Isn't it supposed to be 70 at kickoff? That is hardly cold even for desert dwellers.

I think the winning % with the roof open vs closed is overblown, how many times with the roof closed might we have lost if the roof was open? Seriously. All a bunch of nonsense. It is all about the teams playing more than whether you can see the sky or not.

Roof open or roof closed, they better beat the Bengals.

They already biffed one game at home, they better not biff another.

And look at our stadium with the roof opened. The opening is barely a little hole in the center over the field. It's not like the whole lid slides off or something. There is a TON of "stadium" to reflect sound back downwards towards the field.

The whole debate about whether it's louder with the roof opened or closed could be easily solved with an SPL meter at the sidelines. Check it both ways, opened or closed. Having attended every game there (minus 2) since the stadium opened, I don't notice ANY difference in noise one way or another. But measure it at field level - and if it is quieter down there, then fine, close the damn roof. But, if as I suspect, there's no difference or minimal difference - then it should always be open the last half of the season when the heat is gone.

They heard that DWash bought a ticket for tonight's game and they are going to need to air out the marijuana smell.
