Any word on the roof?
Who makes the call, us or the league?
It will be a Chamber of Commerce day on Sunday. Maybe hard to argue keeping it closed.
Although if some small mechanical or electrical part were to fail...?

There is absolutely NO way on the planet that roof would be open. No freaking way.

Somehow some way, the roof will be non functional this weekend. I was at the stadium this evening and it was closed, so we're safe :)

Just so you know, the roof was closed for last year's Super Bowl. I had heard the league requested it. I'm sure they would pursh for closed over open because it provides better security.

Does the NFL still penalize the home team if the crowd is too loud?

LOL this isn't 1987. That rule hasn't been called for years. The only noise rules are where it is artificial noise such as stadium music NBA style. And no the league doesn't decide on the roof. The Cardinals do and it will be closed.

As I remember the weather on Superbowl Sunday last year was kinda crappy. I think the chance of storms/rain was more of a factor in keeping the roof closed than security was.

I guarantee it will be closed.

I never really bought into the whole "Warner plays better in a dome" argument, but when I read a Warner quote about how he was lobbying for it to be closed against the Falcons, it put that doubt to rest.

If closing the roof gives anyone on the team even the slightest psychological advantage, then you MUST close the damn roof!

They should have just built a dome and saves 100 million.

The roof will be closed until player introductions, when the crowd noise will blow that sucker off.

They'll find it in Tucson.

Just for the record, I found this on wikipedia.

This was the second Super Bowl played in a retractable-roof stadium (designed by Peter Eisenman and HOK Sport). During the regular season, the home team decides 90 minutes before kickoff whether the roof would be open or closed, and an open roof must remain open unless weather conditions get worse. However, as a neutral site, the NFL controls the option to open or close without any restrictions. The first time this was employed was in Super Bowl XXXVIII at Reliant Stadium; the roof was open for pregame and halftime shows and closed during the game.[19] Because there was rain in the forecast for Super Bowl XLII, the roof was closed for the entire day's activities.
