Are all of you:

"the sky is falling, Graves is running us into the ground, why do we follow this organization, graves sucks, why do we do nothing but sit on our thumbs while every other team in the NFL is improving themselves, this organization is a disgrace,"

Crowd ok for now? Since we signed two FA's?

Or are you still in doomsday mode?

Comparing it to some past years' free agency, it's been downright sedate IMO.

You wasted 5 minutes of your life bragging about 2 FA signings that aren't even a blip on the NFL radar?

Meanwhile we're at major crossroads with THE ONLY first round pick Graves hasn't screwed up - Larry Fitzgerald.

Graves is a complete moron and has put this team in the situation they're in - financially handcuffed.

No, Graves isn't driving this franchise into the ground. He's sticking to his trademark - Out of the playoffs

Nah only took me about 40 seconds to type that up. This is the response I was looking for.

Where did I brag about the 2 FA's

Unless some folks consider a blocking tight end an improvement then yeah, Graves is a joke. Because that's all we've really done. Replaced Pace with Laboy and signed a TE.

Considering the impact most rookies have this team is destined for 8-8 next year. I say that because the team had holes to fill and improvements to make and one draft isn't going to do it. Especially since free agency is a wash.

Than again, there is always June 1st. (sarcasm)

GB and the Giants were both 8-8 two years ago. They both did squat in FA and both were in the playoffs and one a SB champ. So I dont get it? Continuity matters.

Those are also teams with successful histories and that know how to win and what it takes to win. We can't brag about our track record. I can't blame anyone for feeling down. We always find reasons to be down because we are rarely given reasons to celebrate. Continuity does matter, but we lost a key piece of last year's success and are crippled by the contract of another.

We are not crippled. I just dont get that. Parity is huge in the NFL regardless of our history.

The NFL rules designed to encourage parity cant overcome incompetent ownership/management.

How do you figure the Fizgerald draft pick wasnt screwed up? Character is more than not getting arrested or getting caught using steroids. I dont recall of ever hearing about a marquee player not willing to restructure a deal to benefit the team so that it makes winning more likely. Greed/selfishness in my book is as bad if not a worse flaw than the other more widely known flaws. Graves and the Cardinals when they drafted Fitzgerald did not note his serious character flaw.

As for his on the field impact. How many divsion titles or playoff games has the team had since he was drafted?

I hate this argument more every time I hear it. I mean, if we're going to use it, we don't have ANY impact players. But, the truth is, we were ONE made FG away from the playoffs last year. Which, by our standards, is damn near a run at the Super Bowl.

I remember reading Aeneas Williams' book and what he said about his holdout. That was, he found it odd that fans took the business side of football far more personally than either the players or team management did. If you just look at it as business, it's far less upsetting. And, you don't have to choose sides for the player or the team.

Rod Graves put those escalators in the contract that Fitz signed. Fitz achieved those incentives and now it's a character flaw because he won't restructure the deal that his moron GM signed him to. You make zero sense.

Fitz has been to 2 Pro Bowls in his first 4 seasons, he's FAR from the problem. Maybe if the rest of this team could play to Fitz' level then we'd have some success. Your last sentence is one of the most idiotic sentences I've read on this website and doesn't deserve a response

I am disappointed that we failed to make a deal with Fitz.

It no longer matters whether we do it this year at all. Eugene Parker was quite clear telling Kent Somers yesterday that Fitz and Parker's only goal was to get the most dollars they could out of this extension. Otherwise, why bother.

That's a clear message and acceptable. Fitz deserves what he can get. And the Cardinals are now free to explore going in a different direction.

Fitz had the hammer and used it as he saw best. He no longer holds it over our heads.

I regret we will lose Fitz next off-season.

Countless other players have restructured deals to make money available for other players. It is a choice. Does he want to win more than he wants the money? As a player if you know you can do something that makes it possible to get better players and you dont do that thing then you are saying winning isnt the most important consideration. Just because you have the legal right to do something doesnt make it right to do it.

If Fitzgerald has his way he will be the only quality player on the team so there wont be the problem of other players being able to live up to his level. Warner misses his incentive for a lousy $500,000 by one goal of three by a mere .5% and we cant afford to do that but we can afford this?

The supposed object of all players is to win. If a team does not win it reflects on all the players, coaches, management and ownership. It is fact they have not won since he has been with the team.

Lastly I disagree with people but I never call their comments idiotic or other derogatory terms. There is no place for that in these discussions.

This is the most fun time of the year to read these boards, everyone loses their minds and says the most idiotic overstated things. I love it.

Devil,

Would you restructure your deal if you were in Fitzgerald's shoes if you knew it would free up salary that would be used to improve the team?

If I knew that by restructuring I improved the chances of winning I would do it in a minute. It would not be putting me in the poorhouse by restructuring. I would rather play for less money on a good team than make marginally more money playing on a lousy team that I know I could have improved by restructuring. Either way I am comfortable financially.

Like keeping your starting OLB and 3rd WR?

If the choice is to keep your good OLB and 3rd WR or your All Pro on course to be hall of famer starting WR I think the choice is clear to most sane people.

Well we lost Calvin Pace so our defense now is in the crapper because he is obviously the key stone of all things in the Cardinals defense. Also, we must have missed this last year, he can now jump over large buildings in a single bound.

Then we lost our 3rd WR. And you now how important your 3rd WR is for a running team. Especially one who can't catch a pass if it hits him in the hands.

We signed a blocking TE, which we needed, but it is Jerame Tuman and his name is not even on the FoxSports FA list so he sucks.

Travis Laboy was signed, but because the Cardinals signed him he instantly sucks.

Fitzgerald, along with not re-negotiating his contract yet, he has been poisoning the water supply to the desert, keeping the housing market in the toilet, and convinced Ralph Nadar to run for president. An update I just read says he is trying to get back his ring to plunge the world into darkness, and we have sent Tangodnzr, and Vikesfan with the ring to Mt. Doom to try and destroy it. I heard they met up with Rod Graves on the way to guide them....were screwed.

BUT we are looking to trade Fitzgerald for a CB with one leg, a late 2nd round pick and a football with no laces.

We lost out on signing Alan Faneca to a 50 mil contract, Pace to a 44 mil contract, and countless other free agent that would could have signed for 50 million dollars each. That stinks because if we could get away from paying Fitzgerald an insane amount of money, we could pay someone else of lesser skill an insane amount of money. But because he is a FA in news it would be OK....at least till next offseason.

Finally, it seems that Dansby digress to our 3rd best player on defense, Adrian Wilson has forgotten how to cover anyone since last year, Antonio Smith is a waste, our offensive line has digress, our QB is awful, and Okeafor and Berry are already hurt for next season.

But there is some good news. It seems Jerhme Urban has improved enough to replace Fitzgerald as our 2nd wide reciever.

Overall we will go 0-16 for the next 20 years and it is not even worth watching the games anymore.

I think I got it.
