Nate "Harry" Potter busted out a wand and expecto patronumed his way to a good game and protection for Skelton.

About time Batiste sat down, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well Potter played. The entire line looked better because Potter was competent. Not great, but competent.

About the only positive takeaway I have from this game.

I noticed near the end of the game that Batiste snuck up behind Porter and yanked out a hair from the top of his head. I wonder why he did that?

Potter may turn out to be a pretty good O Lineman. Skelton had a 300 yard game and S H had a decent running game. But GB got two touchdowns they shouldn't have. They didn't make the 1st down on a 3hird down throw, and poor tackling on the long TD by Crabtree.

I didnt see Potter get blown up at all but to be fair i think GB pass rush was pretty weak. Skelton had more time than usual today

He got blown up one time on an inside move. But most of the time moved his guy out and behind the pocket.

Skelton had more time than usual in the second half, not the first half. When did Potter fly in?

The Packers are tied with the Cardinals for the league lead in sacks so I am pretty sure they don't have a weak pass rush.

Potter did ok, which is pretty good for a rookie. Struggled with the bull rush at times, but that was the knock on him out of college. He is worth a look the rest of the season. That being said, Colledge looked like our worst linemen on the field today. He got beat a lot.

Really? Hmm. Well clay mathews was out a lot of the day so that may have had something to do with it.

I called him as our LTOF before the season. He played LT for one of the best teams then (Boise State), and is really athletic. He had a solid game today. Too bad the defense, our receivers, Skelton....and so on...did not have solid, consistent games.

I think Matthews went out at the end of the 3rd Q, and Potter entered at the end of the 1st Q. We pass blocked ok today, but the entire rest of the team struggled.

It seems Potter >>>>>> Batiste

Question is why was it not tried earlier?

Now, this is cautious optimism because the first three games Batiste also looked reasonable.

Because the refs let him hold.

Because he was a 7th round rookie that was injured in the preseason, and he needed time to get up to speed. It looks like he's up to speed now.

Hopefully when K9 looks at the coaches tape, he can pull out a couple good and bad plays for Potter so we can really know to have a little hope at the position or not.

My goodness, if Potter could hold up at LT what that would mean for the franchise.

Its one game, and no one has really taken a 2nd look at the tape yet.

One can hope tho.

Agree Chopper. Colledge looked terrible. Playing against his former team maybe they knew how to exploit his weaknesses?

I'll wait before "crowning his ass".

I recall a few posters who were describing Levi going down as a possible "blessing in disguise". :slap:

Was rather more impressed with Massie's game today.

Potter looked alot better than Batiste for sure. I hope he starts the rest of the year over Batiste. Potter looked decent, not great but you can see that he at least has potential where Batiste don't.

Matthews is also a LB. If we can block DE's....THEN i'll start worrying about blocking a LB.

1st game, there will be plenty this season to disect on him. More growing pains ahead, but there's hope. There's still hope on the right side too.

When Potter came in the pass blocking improved. We didn't have to help both tackles on every single snap.
