I know everyone says it’s defense. However, it’s not just that. Ossenfort, I’m certain in conjunction with Gannon, is sending a message. The first 3 selections are conveying a statement to the team and the league. The Cards will be featuring physicality. All 3 of these picks are very physical. They enjoy contact and force the issue. They succeed by imposing their will on their opponents. They are relentless and play the type of game that makes it no fun to play them. It’s clear that management is saying, “No more nice guys.” This is conflict and it’s intended to wear down the opposition. There was a great deal of this on offense last season. Look at the way Conner runs. He seeks contact. He intimidates people. He wears them out. This is why you draft a blocking TE in round 3. Draft pick Campbell is another good example. He’s not super fast, he just physically pressures receivers constantly. I’m anxious to see how this plays out once the season starts. It’s a good thing they give everyone helmets.

I cant wait to see how Rallis uses these new defensive weapons. I imagine Nolen and Burch will work their way into the roster on 3rd downs (specifically 3rd and longs) where they can just pin their ears back and charge. Im hoping Stafford considers retirement after facing this defense twice.

I remember reading an article back in the day about the Seahawks defense when they were dominate. Teams didn’t like playing them and said they were still beat up and sore going into next weeks game. That’s the kind of violence and aggression I want to see with the defense this year. Make every team feel what it’s like to play the Cards that it stays with you days later.

Preach. Too long have we been on the receiving end. Time to pay it back in spades

Unfortunately for us our QB continues to be the most flimsy player on our roster. Expecting him to hold up after the first 10 or so weeks of the season is just foolish.

Whatever we gain on defense will be limited by the fact that we rarely score above 17 points in a game when Kyler is out or below 75%.

Regardless…… Hopefully the games are fun to watch.

I still remember Cards vs Hawks in 2016. Most physical game I can remember only for two soccer players to ruin it for both teams.
