Unbelievable. The Cats defense was atrocious as Cal had their ways with wide open 3's. Unless they win the Pac-10 tournament this team is going to the NIT. :(

Thanks Lute for a great ride. Winning the title in 1997 was something I will never forget.

Beat Stanford on saturday and win 2 in the Pac10 tourney and the Cats will make the Big Dance. The magic number is 21 wins... or hopefully 20 if we are lucky.

I still think UA gets in but if they lose to Stanford they better do well in the conference tourney, 5 straight losses going into the conf tourney would make getting in much tougher.

Right now I think WSU is the favorite to win the conference tourney, they're playing the best ball in the conference.

If the UofA beats Stanford and Washington beats Washington State, the Cats will play ASU and be in the Washington bracket. I like that scenario much better than being in the UCLA bracket.

I hope thats how it plays out... dont think ASU can beat UofA 3 times in a season, and a win against ASU would make the Cats a lock.

U of A will make the tourney without deserving it. I have no doubt in my mind.

Still bitter about last season apparently... Cats get 20 wins and they deserve to get in.

Wins over UCLA, Washington, Gonzaga, Kansas, and ASU in the Pac10 tourney will be enough.

Cats lose to either Stanford or ASU and they wont get in, and they wouldnt deserve to.

I don't think he's bitter about last year, it's more anger after realizing that the high water mark for the ASU Hoops program is barely better than our low point.

your low point is just getting started my friend. ASU is a program on the rise, and I know by the way you talk that it scares the crap out of you.

Funny how ASU fans show no intelligence whatsoever when talking about sports. The UofA had the best non-conference showing of ANY Pac-10 teams. Better than ASU, better than UCLA. They handily beat Stanford today and if they beat ASU in the first round of the tourney, they are absolutely in. Hell, they may be pretty close to being in right now based on those Kansas and Gonzaga wins. Not to mention UCLA.

haha I'm sorry, did you just bring up intelligence about sports and then boast about beating Stanford? And you guys also choked better than ANY Pac-10 team in out of conference plays with losses against UAB, A&M, and UNLV.

Your probably right about UofA's low point... the next couple years will be rough. You might even be right about ASU, when your team has recently been the laughing stock of the Pac10, there is no where to go but up. Hopefully for your sake, ASU makes a long run in the tourney, cuz it'll be its last appearance for awhile... and soon as Harden and Penderdjadgf are gone, so are your hopes of being relevent in college basketball.

Best of luck to your team.

I would like to say I didn't expect such a juvenile response from you, but that would be a lie.

Andy Katz thinks the UofA is in.

Arizona should be fine. The Wildcats beat Stanford on Saturday for a win that simply turns the dial. Arizona has the body-of-work résumé with nonconference wins over Gonzaga and Kansas. Beating UCLA and Washington plays in its favor, too. Splitting the weekend homestand should clinch a bid.

So a program that's high point is 4th place in the Pac-10 and is a borderline NIT team next year is a program on the rise? That's new. I guess UA Football is on the rise too.

I have a pretty good feeling who Arizona's next head coach is going to be and his resume will be clearly better than anybody in the conference not named Ben Howland so I wouldn't be counting your chickens quite yet.

And nice attendance too by the way, a half empty stadium on Senior Night for the last home game for the best player in your program's history sure does scream rising program.

Jeez, enough of the well-worn potshots. Everybody knows which school has the better hoops history and which has the football history.

UA handled Stanford well, guaranteeing they are in the tournament, in my opinion. Their body of work this season won't be ignored on selection day. At least I hope not. Having both ASU and UA in the tournament would be cool. Make it more fun to watch.

As a fan of the team that benefits most from UofA not getting in the NCAA and ending their streak I begrudgingly agree that it will continue for one more year. Next year is looking like a totally different matter, though.

I hate that a young Kansas team still learning how to play together is giving the UofA a quality win now that we've found our stride (TTech game not withstanding). We're a different team than we were in Dec.

IMO... I think it really is as simple as if UofA beats ASU on Thursday they are in...

If they don't, they are out.. reason being they would be 19-13, losers of 5 of their last 6 games, that doesn't bold well for a team squarely on the bubble, not to mention they are just 2-10 in road/neutral games...

yes they have wins over Kansas/Gonzaga... but I don't think it will be enough if they lose on thursday...

That's the thing. The Cats don't have a bad loss on their schedule. Their 3 non-conference losses were to UAB (21-10), Texas A&M (22-8) and UNLV (21-9). All of those teams also have winning records in their respective conferences.

The Cats RPI isn't that great, but their SOS is 32, compared to ASU's 51. Comparing UofA's non-conference schedule negatively to the rest of the PAC just makes you look ignorant.

how is that juvenile? or is it because i was right. The personal attacks really show how weak your arguments are though.
