Which would make this season the lamest of the four.
The first 5 episodes were created so Rick could vote someone off the island... just to have them return. A waste of 1/3 of the season.
Three episodes dedicated to a character whose story arc was wrapped up, and given a proper ending last season. But I guess the comic book people would have rioted if they didn't get a ridiculous 'tank vs. prison' ending. Almost an entire month of a storyline that felt forced.
After the mid-season break, they aired five "character development" stories. Which is obviously the entertainment industry's euphemism for "boring and poorly paced".
Next was the wildly overrated, melodramatic and poorly acted "Of Mice and Lizzie". Not only a complete rip-off of Steinbeck, but not nearly as good or morally debatable as the season 2 episode with Shane and Otis.
After about six hours of being forced to watch people walk on train tracks, and "Hey look, another Terminus map" camera shots, the survivors finally reach Tasha Yar. I hope she pours bbq sauce on all of them.

So why are you watching?
i've got a theory called The Watching Dead. Basically, I think after you've watched a show this long, you kind of become a TV viewing zombie. it's habit, it's on, you watch and will watch it until you're shot through the head and it's over...but until then, you keep watching. I'm completely mindless when I watch it, nothing in it really gets my blood pumping, but yet, there I am, every week, watching the sucker. At least that's the theory I've come up with for myself, because honestly, I don't know why I keep watching.
The Watching Dead. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
Except that a lot of these people are those who have complained for a lot longer than just season 4. What's the cutoff? I would think people would have learned from Heroes.
i think the difference here is that...hell...I have no clue. literally, I don't know why i keep watching it. i like end of the world stuff and the production values are always really good and every once in a while there's a really good episode, but usually that can't hold me for this long with a show.
i'm telling yeah...the show infected me back in the day and i'm now The Watching Dead. That's my only explanation.
Does anyone seriously think this was a good season or that this wasn't the worst or 2nd worst season?

I completely tapped out on Heroes after season 2, as much as I wanted it to be awesome. Seems like people have been nit-picking and complaining for 4 seasons now. At what point do you just move on?
I enjoy TWD despite its flaws. Not every show can be on the Breaking Bad, or even True Detective level. TWD is one of the few shows I look forward to catching each week.

The 'scientist' is supposed to look the way he does. It's in character. If you want to know about the characters check out this Wikla. Here's one linking the scientist character: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Eugene_Porter_(Comic_Series)Just finished watching 4 seasons of this over a period of a few weeks, whew! My wife and I really enjoyed it.
The characters were excellent for the most part, but the one that seemed pretty questionable was the "scientist" that was being transported to DC to "save the world". The guy just doesn't strike me as a scientist, at all. IMO, Either the part was poorly cast, or he and this DC trip is some type of rouse built into the story line.
