After 4 episodes, I figured out where Jeffrey Dean Morgan got his inspiration to play Negan. I was very interested in the character at the start, but after a few episodes, his mannerisms and and dry, and sometimes corny humor started to get on my nerves. Now, every time he's on screen, I keep seeing Danny "the Count" Koker from the show, Counting Cars. Has anyone seen the show on the History channel? I watched a few episodes till "The Count" got on my nerves. lol

I love fan theories. But I think the morse code is too subtle to be a major foreshadowing. Maybe an Easter egg?

Still feeling like Negan is overdone. We've now had two episodes of near-constant Negan monologue. Also, dude puts himself in way more vulnerable positions than he should. I know he's supposed to have broken everyone psychologically - but Rick holding 'Lucille' with Negan's back turned; Carl having a gun on Negan and his henchmen; not to mention all the opportunities Dwight has had...

It's not that those opportunities don't present risk to others that one may not be willing to take - but at the same time I haven't seen any evidence that if someone DID kill Negan that the Saviors would rally behind their dead King.

But we also haven't seen anything if the Saviors really, except for Dwight. They're just a bunch of thugs and it feels like Rick could do well in a vacuum. We're supposed to be convinced by the idea that "the numbers are against them," but what are the numbers after Negan is dead?

Negan is driving me nuts. Like, I don't want to watch anymore type of nuts.

He is WAY too over the top. Can we bring the Governor back?

I wouldn't have expected Negan to be out-Ezekiel-ing Ezekiel in his imitation of a stage actor.

Once the action gets going I think Negan will be a good foil. They're just taking stretching the season as they always do.

I watched some gif of it today and while I didn't notice it live, it's clear he was communicating

I will tune in tonight...... but I sure as hell hope they get this thing in gear. My guess is that now they will dedicate most of the hour to Maggie.

Yep. What clued me in to the entire thing and prompted me to re-watch was Rick's head nod. Once I saw that? I re-watched that scene a couple times and was convinced that Daryl was messaging Rick.

I told my wife...see I do pay attention...sometimes. For some reason she didn't find that as amusing as I did.

Interesting twist in the box truck at the end there.

The trailer for next week shows a few other characters were haven't seen in a few weeks, Rick scavenging for negan and some kingdom clips so hopefully things start to tie together. It almost seems that things won't start cooking until the second half of the season.

It's so frustrating watching week by week as the story is still carrying well but I could have watched these last 4 episodes in a night and enjoyed it more than getting piece by piece

Watched the latest episode last night. Good stuff! Nice to see people starting to take steps towards confronting Negan, though baby steps they are.

Another snoozer last night.

and only 2 episodes left. getting the feeling nothing will be resolved with the Negan clan. Just a build up for next season and the next season and the next season. These single character episodes are getting boring. I really didn't care what happened to "whatshername" last night. Now we have the Amazon clan fisheaters to consider.

Obviously the snoozer of an episode was a setup to take the guns of the Amazon village later. Like was said above. Nothing will get resolved in two episodes. They will probably end the mid-season cliff hanger on giving the audience a glimmer that there is still fight in them as they set something in motion to be picked up at after the break.

It was nice to see another group, but that was awkward acting by the actress that plays Tara. Cringeworthy. She has no business carrying an episode.

Or potentially a setup for the Oceansiders to join in the fight? If this ends up being a complete bottle episode, Tara never breaks her promise and we never see Oceanside again, then I agree it was maybe a snoozer. But it's more interesting if we potentially now have Alexandria, Hilltop, the Kingdom, and Oceanside all as potential allies against the Saviors.

Tara lied about 5 times to them last night, I think there is just about zero chance that she keeps that promise.

And are they the Oceansiders or the Amazonians?

I see negan being around for a bit, if anything this half of the season is all about presenting the scope of the new problem. At this point with things shaping up over a long period, the mid season premiere will likely have to do with all of these groups learning of each other and forming a coalition moving forward to a massive showdown. Who knows at this point though, just what I am guessing. I thought the group's would be coming together by now, maybe there are more still to find out about.

I forgot those two had left together, that black guy appeared long ago and seemed like a capable character for moving forward but has had so little written for him I don't even know his name. He must be alive still, loose ends there too.

I wonder how though, they are so hyper paranoid at this point it seems there would be no way to approach them for an alliance. Maybe at some point Jesus will be tasked with going to all of these places for recruitment purposes although I don't think the kingdom or hilltop will need much persuasion

They called it "Oceanside" in the accompanying Inside TWD segment, though I don't remember if it was used in the actual episode. The fact that is has a real name might indicate further plot involvement.

It does seem plausible that Tara would break that promise, if only to send an emissary for help. There's also the chance that someone like Cindie reports back on what is happening and Oceanside has a change in heart about fighting the Saviors. We'll see.

If they fled with only the clothes on their backs, I do wonder where they got all those guns...

Apparently here was something on the wall that indicates the camp had once been "Oceanside cabin Motor Court, Virginia."
