1. Chiefs: Luke Joeckel, OT, A&M - Shouldn't be any question here really. They are going to pay the FA injured LT Branden Albert or use the franchise tag on him for they will probably use that on Dwayne Bowe. They have probably the surest player in the draft in Joeckel to fill that need and shouldn't pass on him.
2. Jaguars: Demontre Moore, DE, A&M - Lots of DEs at the top of everyone's boards to fill the Jags need they have had for years now. They won't let another year go by without addressing their problems. I believe Moore is the best of the lot and would be surprised if the Jags find any reason not to agree with me and many others.
3. Raiders: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah - This is the hardest to figure, not only because it is the Raiders, but also because they have needs everywhere. Since Al Davis isn't around anymore, I believe they will pick the highest ranked player that looks to be a sure Star in the NFL.
4. Eagles: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama - The Eagles have more needs on D than on offense. However, I am going to say they make the first surprise pick in the draft due to their new coach's penchant for the running game, and need to help Vick stay upright.
5. Lions: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State - This is like playing spin the bottle on this pick. The Lions have to get a DE here and there are still 3 who warrant this high a pick after Moore was taken. I am going to guess here and say they go with Werner to blend in with their powerful DTs the best.
6. Browns: Jarvis Jones, DE/OLB, Georgia - I think the Browns will be ecstatic to find Jones on the board for them and will see him as the answer to their defensive woes.
7. Cardinals: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama or Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas - This will be the surprise of the draft to this point. It will be fun to see Mel Kiper react to this one. The reasoning is simple however, as I go to my own Cardinal Big Board to make this BPA pick. With Joeckel and Warmack off the board the Cards will be looking to get the best value with their pick. Let's start at Safety first: With Rhodes and Wilson future dicey at best, the Cards will have to be making some major financial decisions regarding the position of safety. And with the young QBs in the NFCW, this is not a position to be weak at. Cards have a chance to pick up a great answer at safety for the next few years, making the pick of Vaccaro a wise cost effective pick. Now, as far as them picking Milliner instead, they again are going to have to address the depth issue at CB in a great passing NFCW. Milliner would make their D instantly better and give them one of the very best corner combos for years to come. Both of these players fit perfectly value wise with the 7th overall pick and address one of two issues mostly overlooked by their offensive needs, which they will obviously be addressing throughout the draft.
Personally between the two, Milliner and Vaccaro, I believe Vaccaro is a surer bet. I don't see any reason not to expect him to be a future all pro, and the nicest thing of all is that he is very capable of playing all 3 DB positions effectively. He is truly the stud of the DBs in the draft and will make a great replacement for our all pro Adrian Wilson in the near future.
