Remember when Denny was hired he was supposed to make Wendell Bryant a real player, well it didn't happen.

Will Whisenhunt be able to resurrect anyone's career here?

My guess would be Eric Green. Denny destroyed his confidence by yanking him from games all the time. I think the Whiz with the assistance of a good staff will make him a good player.

Antrell Rolle, by getting him a legit DB coach (done) and hopefully a good DC.

Here is a question about Whisenhunt:

Did his hiring affect the scouting department at all? Does a head coach bring in some of his own scouts or is that strictly managements job?

I don't think Eric Green or Antrel Rolle need "resurrecting". I think they need disciplined conditioning, a better scheme, & proper coaching.

I honestly think they'll both be fine.

If I had to pick a player that I thought might do better under Whizenhunt it might be Calvin Pace. If Wiz is more inclined to run a 3-4 Pace might make an excellent outside linebacker.

I was thinking that Pace could be in big trouble with Whiz arriving. I am hoping he can do some good with Antonio Smith who I like alot.

I believe the Cards kept the same scouts from Tobin to McGinnis but then there really wasn't much that changed overall with that move. There was a small shakeup in the scouting department when Green took over but there are 6 guys still in the scouting dept who were with the team in 2003.

Kiem,Young,DeKraker,Belu,Hardaway and Stanley.

Whiz may institute a new system that may help Green. Hopefully we will have a better pass rush which will help Green and the rest of the defenders.

I think the GM is in charge of the scouts and hires them. Graves said he makes all player decisions so it makes sense he would select the scouts.

I think RG has been making a lot changes in the scouting since he took over in 2003.

Didn't he move out the unlamented George Boone

Graves took over administration of the Cardinals scouting department in 1998.

Don't know if that gave him any control over employment of scouts though.

I also believe Boone would be in his late 60's early 70's considering he played football at Kentucky '57-'59 which would lend credence to the retirement theory.

Note: In 2003 the Cardinals had 5 of 9 guys associated with college scouting who had started their careers in the 1960's.

Whisenhunt observed in one interview that he thought the pieces were in place and the talent was there. It was just a matter of "pointing them in the right direction."

A truer word was never spoken. If he is successful here, it will because the consistency, discipline and physical/mental toughness of every player on our roster is elevated.
