1. Kliff determining that they were going to keep feeding Chase the ball despite it not being effective. I understand that the Dolphins we’re struggling against the run prior to the game but please don’t keep running into a brick wall...adapt! Chase finished with 2.8 per carry (gross). Also giving him 25 carries was gross.

2. Kliff getting conservative when it matters most. This is now consecutive games in which I thought he took his foot off the gas pedal when the game was on the line. He’s so aggressive in general, it just feels like these moments get too big for him and he shrinks back. Let’s hope he learns from it. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt because he has been very good overall about improving upon his mistakes.

3. The refs. I’ll never blame refs for a loss but dang, they did there part to keep Miami in the game in the 4th with multiple questionable calls allowing Miami to score and tie the game when they desperately needed points.

4. The defenses inability to make a rookie quarterback in his second start ever, in his first road game ever, uncomfortable. Multiple missed sacks. Zero turnovers forced. Allowing him to convert 50% of 3rd downs. Just uninspired football.

5. Where was the energy? This team now has a proven track record of playing down to its competition, losing all 3 games they were favored to win. This is a lack of maturity and character. This team is so frustrating.

Bonus: Brian Flores can coach and he out-coached Kliff. That front seven was daunting but it’s really not a star-studded lineup. Can you imagine what Flores could do the stars on our D? This loss was a punch to the stomach.

I don't agree with number 5. I felt like we had good energy on both sides of the ball. Players were flying around all day, we saw Darrell Daniels of all people out muscle 2 DBs for a touchdown. This loss wasn't on a lack of effort. I think the problem was there were a lot of names called on defense that I hadn't heard before today. The replacement CBs for Murphy and Kirkpatrick suck. There's way around it. We are a good team at full strength but it all comes crashing down even with just a couple starters out on defense. Its impossible to stay full strength for an entire NFL season, so until we get more depth we are not going to be a consistent team.

Also I don't think we were playing down. Miami was with a solid team with Fitzpatrick and Tua is obviously a lot better than Fitzpatrick. Tua wasn't just feasting on our practice squad CBs, he was out there throwing dimes. He won't repeat todays performance every week but I am confident he is going to be their franchise QB for the next decade. Dolphins are a real threat to beat the Bills for the AFC East this year. They are not the Lions.

Overall, the loss doesn't have me worried about the direction the team is going. It's just very, very painful for Murray's best performance by FAR to be in a losing effort. At least the Murray to Kirk connection is growing stronger? Also the conservative run plays at the end of games have got to go. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

The D really missed opportunities all over the place.

Poor tackling and not finishing off sacks really hurt us.

Without pressure we allowed a rookie QB to gain his confidence and get comfortable.

Inexcusable at this stage of the season.

We can nit pick some things that could have been better. Yes the run game sucked. Yes we ran it too much considering it was sucking. Kliff made some dubious play calls, normally centered around fore mentioned running.

But ultimately we put 31 points on a team averaging half that. That was more than enough to win the game.

The only thing that lost us this game was one of the worst game plans I have seen by Vance Joseph. You have a rookie QB in his first road game. They have no run game. Your down a couple of starting DB's. You blitz the crap out of Tua until he proves he can beat it. Then you blitz some more.

We played such a vanilla scheme and just sat off giving Tua all the time in the world and let him get comfortable. It was baffling, and that's why we lost. Because our DC sucks like we thought he did.

On the run game I think people have to get used to the fact Kyler is part of the run game. Yes Chase never popped one but we had 178 yards rushing, nearly 5 ypc. Some games Kyler occupies a defender and makes it easier for the RB, like the big Drake game or Seattle, sometimes the RB occupies the defense and makes it easier for Kyler which was often the case today. 3-4 times today Kyler pulled the ball out, Chase either got drilled or made a block and Kyler had a nice run, that only works because Miami believed we were going to hand it off. Hopkins has to be more involved, no targets in the first half. I think he drew 3 PI's, one was called back by offsetting penalties. I think Kliff got cute in that he got Maxx back and so he wanted to use more 2 and even 3 TE sets. It worked at times, 2 TE catches for TD, several nice run, but it limited the big plays to WR's.

I would assume the way Andy struggled we're going to see more Maxx and less Andy the next few games.

Number 5: This is concerning, and I had a feeling after the bye we would come out lazy and think we'd walk all over the Dolphins. This team seems to pick and choose what opponents it wants to bring energy against instead of bringing. consistent energy and motivation

Jordan Hicks admitted there was no energy as in previous weeks. I seriously don’t get it and it is inexcusable. You can’t already control the outcome but you can control effort.

The main thing I saw in that game was I thought their coaching was better than ours. I'm fine with the offense but the defense we had guys missing and I don't think we put the backups in the best positions we could have.

The time out by KK again I totally get it he couldn't have anticipated Andy was going to screw the first down like that but clearly he was too fast in calling it before knowing he had the first down. That combined to give Miami 3 points which was the losing margin.

And as I said twice yesterday, very impressed with Tua, very accurate and seemed to really understand what we were doing out there. I was never sure about him in college because he had so much talent around him on both sides of the ball, but he's legit.

Lot of really good young QB's in the NFL, we could be in for a 5-10 year period of offensive dominance IMO

I didn't see the game however I did get a chance to watch a pretty good highlight video of the game and I agree Tua seemed to have command out there and he did seem to be able to get through his progressions more often than not. He didn't seem to lock onto his target.

The constant running on 2nd and 7 really irked me. We kept having to go for it on 4th down because of how conservative we were.

After the long pass to Kirk that got us into FG range, Kliff goes super conservative instead of going for the win.

Zane misses the kick. Ballgame.

Same thing happened with Seattle, only we didn't get so lucky this time.

The thing that frustrated me the most was letting them score a TD on their first 3 possessions. Vance saved his 0-6-5 for the 2nd half for some reason.

The Dolphins are pretty damn good and they have a top ten defense. They’ve won 4 in a row now.

I agree. They are good. I still believe this is a game that falls under the category of “should win”.

Shane I’ll flip it on you. Can you name 1 Star on Miami’s D? (IMO Lawson & Van Noy aren’t “stars” yet)

Of course they are good. But players like Jordan Philips and De’Vondre Campbell got paid for a reason. Reddick has been a revelation this year and is in the top 15 in sacks not to mention quality players like Peters & Hicks. I’m just saying on paper I would take our roster, hence my point that coaching is failing at the moment.
