Wow. Were there really 20K+ at the game, as was reported? I can't believe that that many showed up. I wonder if they were counting all the passengers on the airplanes that flew overhead, or something.

That is the saddest thing I have ever seen as far as sports are concerned. Wow.

It looks like Seattle's getting ready to score again!

Granted, there's no way that's possible. What with them having to wear their home jersey's and all. Muahahahahaaaa.....

by the way - what makes any of you think Bidwill is going to all of a sudden change all of his way and make us competitive once we do have the Stadium - the Luxury seats will get sold regardless - corporations always buy those anyway - the guy is cheap and he will have his money - he obviously doesn't care about attendance - thaqt picture is so very sad to me and I really feel that by the end of the year if we keep going the way we're going and by the final game there's only around 10,000 actual attendance - the league will have to do something.

I mean let's look at otyher notoriously bad/cheap franchises who prayed for a stadium to cure their ills - Pittsburg and Detriot in Baseball - yep - they sure did turn themselves around and started going out and getting free agents and keeping their own guys - or how bout Cincy with the firesale they had - bottom line unfortunately is this - Bill Bidwill is a cheap piece of crap owner that cares about one thing - the bottom line - he's in the wrong business for that - this ain't business - football is showbusiness.

Looking at this pic is really sad. It's absolutely unbelieveable that that is the opening day crowd. You don't even have those "we might turn things around" people there anymore. We are making a furious bid for worst franchise in professional sports. I'd love to see that pic sans Seahawks fans.... Pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

do you know what that picture looks like??

It reminds me of the old Cleveland Indian's Municipal baseball statium where the place was near empty back in the old 'Mistake By the Lake' days.

I liken this to that movie Major League where the GM wants to have a winning team and the owner does not. How can we blame Graves or Mac when we have $13 mil in cap space? But then again, I believe we have all that cap space because not too many people want to come to AZ to play.

When was that picture taken? Was it during the game, at the end of the game, what? Because if that is what it was at kickoff then there is no clearer message.

If losing keeps happening, no player will re-sign with us, we'll have to use the franchise tag on Shelton or Ray, and neither deserve it, Emmitt will retire, Mac will get fired, and we'll be rebuilding this team one year after we started "rebuilding" this team.

The league SHOULD do something but Shane is right. They won't. I mean the league should be embarassed by this but they have their money so there is little incentive for them to try anything.

Yesterday was a total embvarassment for the Cards and the league. At first I also thought this crowd amount would be embarassing for the PHX metor area but the more I thought about it the more I admired some people's imtelligence.

Not only wont they do anything. There really is nothing they could do even if they wanted to! They could vote for contraction and thats about it!

With the history this team has and the Bidwells being a big part of why the NFL was even started it will NEVER HAPPEN!

You got it. Bidwill would survive if for no other reason than he is an "original" guy. I suppose the NFL could somehow force him legally to sell but I have no idea if that would even be possible.

Contraction would have to have another team involved since they want an even number of teams. Is there another team TRULY worthy of that honor? Being contracted with the Cards simply to get rid of the Cards?

Nope. Maybe the Bengals but other than that not even close!

Plus being an original has to account for something I guess!

The only way to affect Bidwill is to organize and boycott his sponsors. A corporation would think twice about purchasing a luxury box or continuing to buy advertising if it felt its own business would be affected. Unlike the Bidwills', corporations understand that customers won't continue to buy a lousy product and won't buy from someone who associates with a bad product. Money is the reason the Bidwills' stay in the game. Take away the source and they sell. I enjoy the game of football and follow the Cardinals, but I recognized early on that Bidwill is in this for personal profit, and I have never allowed a dime of my money to cross his sweaty palms.

The Bidwill's will catch a lot of heat from the other owners if this keeps up.
The visiting team shares in the revenue generated by ticket sales.
If they can't meet their expenses coming to Phoenix they'll let Bill baby know in a hurry.

By the way, the newer owners don't give a squat about the "old boys club."
It's win now and where is my share.

not with crowds like that - although if there were 10,000 people outside of SDS stadium bunched together - people would notice that. I'm gonna stop talking about the boycott - one because it's not a boycott - it's ashow of displeasure - no one ever said it would all game long - just a statement - and two - even when I read my own stuff - if it was someone else - I'd probably think they were nuts - but then again - that's what they sayt about all grerat minds.:D
