Spent another $1,000+ to again drive from NJ to Denver to see the Bronco-Cardinal game four weeks later. I had no illusions that the Cardinals could win either game...we were too banged up to really compete with those teams. But I still had a blast at both of 'em.

And no, I'm not rich, don't make a big salary, don't live off a trust fund, or anything else. I work for what little money I have.

andikrist- hang in there brother.

Having a ticket entitles you to have a say in what goes on. Go there and boo- wear a bag on your head- yell at Squidwell up in his box- you have a stake in the deal.

And you'll have a stake in the new deal.

Then, when your friends, or other people at games in the air conditioned- roll out grass- retractable roof- superstar venue- ask you "how the hell did you get THESE seats?" You can tell em how you suffered through these tough years at SDS, and now, every 5 years, you can get drawn for Super Bowl tickets that you can sell for $2,500.

I'd call 'em a fair weather fan.

How about "people who aren't willing to pay money to sit on metal benches in 110-degree heat and watch the local team get embarrassed"?

Again, a fair weather fan.

Bob:

I'd come up with some borderline-insulting term to characterize your choice to spend the time and money to attend Cardinals games, but in calling yourself a "glutton for punishment" in your profile, you've beaten me to it.

I see you're planning to go from New Jersey to Pittsburgh to see the Cards play the Steelers. Maybe, if the players put out as much effort playing that game as you will to see 'em play, the outcome will still be in doubt at halftime. For your sake, I hope so.

Have a nice time at Heinz Field. I'll see you on TV.

I went to the game in Cleveland back in 1994....I sat in the Dawgpound, and i spent only 27 bucks at the time, but i wouldnt change it for the world...Maybe the score 32-0

But anyways i do not mind spending money on the Cardinals...I love the team...I know i live in Ohio, but if i had my way i would be buying season tickets, and living in Arizona

I spent about 200 bucks a ticket for the Lions game
200 Bucks for the Cleveland game
200 bucks for the Steelers game
200 bucks for the bears game

I wouldnt trade these tickets for the world

What i am trying to say is that

I LOVE MY TEAM

That's the spirit andikrist.

Good to hear from you, I thought I may have seen you jumping off Town Lake bridge last Sunday with everyone else.

Not going to a game in 110 degree heat is a "Fair Weather" fan?
Maybe in November we can start calling them "Fair Weather" fans, because that shiet last Sunday was not what I'd call "Fair Weather"! :)

This entire thread should be :

Printed
Put in an envelope
Hand delivered to Bill Bidwill

I think the fans are finally speaking. We're not going to put up with anymore more bullsh**.

Either get with the program.
Or, we're not going.
Period.

My wife doesn't fly, and I love to drive. Not sure if airfare would be cheaper. It'd probablt be preety comparable. My car (2002 Corolla) gets 40+ mpg on the open highways so gas isn't too costly, and we generally stop and eat at Subways along the road (again, not too pricey). Only hotels are costly and we can generally find something acceptable (to her! LOL!) for $60-$80 a night. The big cost is hotels in the cities we visit (we spent 3 days in KC and 3 in Denver as well) and goign out to eat.

She may change her tune about flying after we drive to Oakland and/or San Diego in 2006! ;)
