I agree 100% it was a mistake to cut him.
I don't agree you can just assume we would be sitting any better with him at the helm. If anything at most IMO we might have won maybe 1 maybe 2 more games. All everyone would be doing then is bitching that we need a true #1 QB and that they wished we would have lost more to get a better draft pick. Sound familiar?
I see what your saying but had Fitz not started the season injured and we had committed to the running game early on in the preseason Leinart would have had a better understanding of the offense and made less mistakes than Scud. Whis even said Matt had grasped the things he needed him to in the past couple years and he was pleased with his progress. We needed a strong running game and we failed to fix the Oline. It is all intertwined for sure but having a more accurate Qb and someone that had been in the offense would IMO have been enough in this putrid division. Not saying Warner accurate....but better than Scud. Either way the coaches choice put this in motion. Maybe he felt he was going to lose regardless with Leinart( I do not believe this) so might as well save the $$ and go with Scatter arm. Who knows.
