After 40+ years of being a Cardinal fan, has anything change but the playoff run last year? I am so desperately trying to shun the phrase "same old Cardinals" but they just won't let me.

Ok, there is a half to play in this game, Cards make me eat my words!
By no means are they the same ol Cards. They just always seem to play to the level of their competition. I am not worried. It's a bad loss and they suck today. There is always next week.

I appreciate your willingness to give this team the 2nd half. They already showed what they can do in these types of games last year though. They will score a couple of TD's but ultimately give up 40+ and stay crushed.

Mokler its your guy that is PRIMARY REASON we are losing this game right now and getting blown out like this. You always go to the defense and their inabaility to get a stop but they are not going to be the 85 Bears every week. Carolina has a good game plan. The defense picked up the O last week and instead of doing that, Kurt Warner, who is good for one of these games EVERY DAMN YEAR, is getting balls batted down, handing over TDs, and getting picked going deep.

Any other QB playing this game and it 17-7 tops. Even with the defense having a average game.

Kurt might be the reason we are able to fight back in this game but he is DEFINITELY the reason we are in as deep a mess as we are.

Have to agree that it is completely silly to say that even with today. Cant say they arent fans just hard to break old habits

Please point to where I've defended Warner's day.

dude you need to stay away from the computer on gameday and 2 days after.

Dude, you need to stop accepting failure. They do it to us time and time again, and I can cleary see when the team doesn't show up to play. When they're high, I'm all about praising them. When they're low, I'll kick them in the gut.

Sad thing is, I kept trying to give them praise today, and they kept rejecting it. The very next play after I said, "Man, Levi Brown has played pretty well today," was a false start 75. At 7:12 of the 4th quarter, Warner came to the line. I was so calm and collected, and a revelation came to me. "We're going to win this game!" I said. Then the idiot Warner, WHO SAW Peppers chasing him, refuses to throw the ball away and fumbles away our shot at victory.

I kept TRYING to be positive, but this team WOULD NOT let me.

About the only 3 players/coaches that aren't dogs or no-shows today are Wells, Hightower and Breaston. I'll throw Q in there, because he was hampered and eventually left due to injury. Everyone else, including and especially Whis, is liable for this fiasco.

Looks like the same old Cardinals we all used to know and love, one good game follwed by an epic fail.

To be fair though every bounce went the wrong way, you're not going to win when that happens.

On a positive note

Kudos to the defense, who didn't give up after an awful first half. They buckled down and only allowed 2 field goals in the second half. Good offenses can come back when given that opportunity, and ours could not.

What I really wonder about is if Whis really thinks he's confusing the defense with all the substitutions? Is he having delusions of Tom Landry or something? The only one's that look confused by all the substitutions are the Cardinals. Burning timeouts, plays not coming in on time, pre-snap penalties to go along with the holding calls, abandoning the running game, giving Hightower more touches than Wells when they do actually run it...AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!

I sure hope so. But losing a game the way they did, sure is reminisnet of old times.

I was a Card fan when you were-12 years old, so don't say I can't call myself a fan!

Right on Shane, one half a year does not break 40 years of frustration.

I hope I am not coming down to AZ to see a replay of a game like today. That would suck big time!

thats a joke right? they gave up 280+ yards in the 1st half & let the panthers control the entire half putting us behind the 8 ball. They were a BIG reason we lost.

Disagree.

Yes, the defense had a bad day, especially in the first half. What you have to realize is that these things do happen. What our defense did was bear down, fix the mistakes and give the team an opportunity to get back in the game. That is what they did. Our defense gave up 21 points in the first quarter and a half. After that they gave up 6 points, consisting of 2 field goals. One of these field goals was after a turnover at our 20 and they gave up maybe 3 yards. They gave our "high powered" offense two and a half quarters to generate 3 scores and our offense could not do it. Drew Brees did last week, but Kurt Warner couldn't this week.
