This team is very different.

Very different from any of the teams in recent memory. They have a heart. They have shown me a completely different attitude on the defensive side of the ball.

-The DLine at least have the appearence of trying to attack. They tackle aggressively, in a punishing manner.

-The secondary plays much more physical. There run support has greatly improved.

-The linebacking corp could be special. A couple of players need to get on the field to help solidify it, but they have some real ability.

Offensively, they look like their still learning, but that's to be expected.

-Josh is doing what he can, but it appears he's now starting to get that dreaded 'pounded QB syndrome'.

-Emmett is a leader, but just doesn't have the ability anymore to run behind a weak line. It's really time to step up and try to get a guy like Duckett, who's sitting on Atlanta's sideline, or give the ball to Hambrick and see what he has to offer.

-The receiving corp needs Quan back. He can make all of them better receivers by allowing them to get comfortable in the system. Freddie may not be the best blocker in the NFL, but he can catch the ball and needs to be used like that. In his defense, he blocked the best pass rushers the Falcons have to offer by himself on too many occasions. On King's sack, he kept him out long enough for King to take a 3 step drop, see the 1st option, moved to the second, then finally lost him on the move to the 3rd receiver. A QB with the experience of King should have known better than to try to hold a ball on a three step till he progress to the 3rd.

I like the play calling. I like the effort. I like the heart. This isn't the same team I've had to watch the last several years. Some of you say there are no moral victories. Your wrong. A team as deep in the weeds as the Cards have been the last several years has to measure the improvement they show on the field. Be satisfied with losing? Absolutely not. But you have to recognize the improvement, and see that as the positive it is.

I agree with everything you said, except for the play calling. I don't like some of the runs on first down with our weak run game, and I'm still not sure why we haven't tried some bootleg plays to take advantage of Josh's speed.

Good post.

Even Terry Bradshaw said on the Fox postgame show that "This is not the same old Cardinals. Under Green, they will not be a pushover, and they will get it turned around soon." That really surprised me because Bradshaw loved McGinnis and was always giving him props.

You lost me on the comment about FJ. I was in his corner until this game. Lack of effort, heart and desire. I want him cut and Bush re-signed. At least Bush can block and runs hard. FJ looks like he is trying not to get hurt on every single play.

I agree. We very much seem like the Panthers.

I think they went like 1-15 but everyone knew they were much improved. Next year like 8-8. Following year playoffs.

I'm not saying Freddie is the perfect TE, but he can catch the ball and if you don't expect him to be the man keeping out guys like Kearny, he can be servicable.

I just don't think you can be so quick to kick him to the curb when our receiving corp is anything but at full strength. We need an experienced guy out there being a viable option for whoever is playing QB.

Chris - I hope to hell were not like that Panthers team - they went 0-15 after a shocking first week win and then their entire staff got completely blown out - hell - we even beat them 30-7 that year - YEAH - A 23 point win on the ROAD. Chris Weinke started for them - they completely revamped their squad with their draft and in free agency over the next two years - but that 1-15 team was baout as bad as they come. The next year they started 3-0 and finished 7-9, then last year they went to the playoffs.

LOL Chris Weinke.

See it could easily be worse than McCown.

I THINK YOU GOT IT RIGHT. Realistically we do not have the talent across the board for the playoffs, but at least there is a drastic improvement in attitude and keeping us in the game and at least having a chance at the end of the 4th quarter......................HEART - good definition.
