I generally disagree with you on a lot of things, but that is quite possibly one of the best posts I've ever seen!

I have a strange feeling that we will be hearing from him again. The guy has talent!

I believe how he broke his hand as well. I have seen many freak injuries that just happen and can't be explained! Not to mention there is no evidence to prove otherwise!

About TJ

I wish TJ all the best in Tampa, but I'm not the least bit sad to see him go. He will never be anything special in this league and I am sure of it. He has use as a 3rd down back or change of pace guy, but I want a little more than that for the 7th overall pick. That pick alone set this team back 3 years.

Nice debate style Ilike it!

What is there to debate? Jones has been in the league three years and all he's done is lose the starting job three times to two different backs. All you are doing is projecting that he will somehow magically turn his career around because he is out of AZ. I don't see it happening and I have his career NFL stats to back me up.

Wow a somewhat intelligent response thanks!

First and foremost you can use all the "NFL stats to back you up" theory all you want that is your right and YOUR OPINION!

I have watched TJ and watched him as he was on the verge of a stellar season last year prior to his ankle sprain. So in MY OPINION I feel we havent seen nor heard the last of him. IMO the guy has talent.

But your completely right guys NEVER bounce back to have good if not pro-bowl seasons when they have had mediocre beginnings

I bet I could name just a few!

No. Statistics are statistics. They are elements of data, not "opinions". Now, when I say, "Jones was a good college back who doesn't have what it takes to be a star in the NFL" then that is my "opinion".

I'm sure you could. Funny thing is I never said, "guys NEVER bounce back...". We were talking specifically about Jones and until he shows me something more than a flash here and there I will remain skeptical that he will ever be anything more than a first round bust.

Yes statistics are elements of data. but you were using them to support an opinion or to "back you up" either way its what you think he might do or become so it is still an opinion regardless of what stats you use to back it up!

I know you didnt say never I was raising some of the thought processes that might show that you could be wrong! I could be as well but all in all only time will tell.

Not to nitpick, and I mean this with all due respect, but stats make an opinion more plausible. I could say that McCown is going to light the world on fire, and that he will be better than Favre, but stats make my opinion look less likely.

Maybe not a great analogy, but I stand by it nonetheless.

Not to nitpick but nothing even stats can make an opinion more plausible. It can show what a guy has done in the past and nothing more. It really has no bearing on what Renz opinion or mine is on what he(jones) may do in the future! The future is pretty much unpredictable regardless of what has happened in the past!

All it does is support the fact that he had a less than stellar three years!

You raise an interesting point - the difference between "definites", "probables" and "possibles."

No way I see Thomas Jones definitely or probably turning things around.

But the NFL is all about possibilities - and I think TB made a good move in picking up TJ because "you never know" - in the same way the Cards picked up the "too slow", "didn't get it done last year" Marquise Walker because "you never know.
