Think about it.

  • Plenty of starting experience
  • Playoff experience
  • He's very mobile so fits the scheme
  • He's 26 years old
  • He's not Streveler
Yes. He's not a great starter. But he could be one of the best QB2's in the league no?

Would he be willing to be a back up at his age? Wouldn't he be looking for a team that would give him 1 more shot at being a starter before being satisfied with carrying a clipboard? I could see him going to a team with an unsettled QB room or with an older starting QB.

I’d sign him.

is there a team out there with a starting slot available for him?

I’d sign him in a heartbeat as a backup

I would think he could compete for a starters job in New Orleans or Carolina maybe even San Fran too, or settle on being Brady's back-up in TB figuring at some point he is gonna hang it up. I just don't see him being a back up somewhere like AZ, SD, CIN etc with a young QB in place.

I’d bring him in as backup and be much more stoked than with Strevler.

I don't see anyone realistically giving Trubisky a shot at starting. Not for a good while.

His best bet is a Dalton type situation where maybe he gets to play some and shine enough for someone to give him a deal next year.

I'm not sure where he would go. Washington signed Fitzmagic knowing Mitch was available. The Saints have Winston and Hill who they like. Jags maybe? But that Org is looking to turn a page, not become laughing stocks.

There are teams that need upgrades but Trubisky isn't an upgrade for any of them.

With the way he ended last season down the stretch, doubt he’ll take a backup job for now.

Yeah he threw for over 300 yards in 8 out of his last 9 regular season starts and 7 of those were over 350 yards. Somebody with an unsettled QB room will take a chance.

Yeah that's not a bad call. You don't want him as a starter, but he would be a good backup.

Who exactly is giving him a starting job?

There are 4 or 5 first round QB's going in the draft.

He's a backup whether he likes it or not.

Probably the team that drafted him.

He needs to be a back up for some time before he can consider becoming a starter again. I'd take him. He's not awful, but he certainly isnt a #2 pick.

No way New Orleans as they’ve signed Taysom and crabstealer to contracts already. I’d be surprised with Carolina as they’ll likely draft one and have their caretaker in bridgewater already. TB would be intriguing.

I’m just desperate for anyone other than streveler. I STILL cannot believe that misfeasance hasn’t been more severely excoriated on this board.

Saints basically gave Taysom fake money & Jameis is on a one year deal. Wouldn’t rule that out.

Is he a free agent or still property of Chicago?

I covid see Carolina giving him a shot. He went to UNC and they’re trying to get rid of Teddy.

Who though? I can't think of any team where you can say Mitch is an upgrade and will definitely start

He's not only a free agent, I believe that Chicago declined his fifth-year option, so he doesn't count against any comp pick formula.
