Thoughts on Dessens the middle reliever

Elmer's batting average against for the first 15 pitches he throws is .421, I am not sure that would translate well to middle relief.

He has not gone INTO The 6t inning since August of last year and just gets roughed up the 2nd and 3rd times through the order

Basically I feel that if he can't make it as a starter on this team he is just wasting roster space....release him.

Shades of Mike Morgan. We can't afford to give someone else's spot in the bullpen to one who has been given many chances and failed.

It's the Peter Principle. "In a heirarchy, every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence."

Once they reach the level they can't handle, the best way to resolve it is to move them to a different organization.

Going to someone else's bullpen is not as demeaning as being demoted into your own bullpen. It's a good move for the team, and good for the player. If another team could use him.
