Man the Clippers really need a point guard. Dickau's athleticism is on par with Pike. He's really slow. I still don't understand why teams just give players away like Sam Cassell. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Can someone explain how this benefits the team?

Lakers up 92-66 with 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

couldn't of said it better. in game 3 of the finals dirk missed a FT that would of tied the game. in game 5 of the finals he actually hit some big shots in the 4th qtr and setup a dunk for dampier....that put the mavs up by one point. unfortunately the mavs got called for a foul on wade and he won the game at the line. of course he had a clutch game that knocked the spurs out that year as well. that game against phoenix was the swing game....and before dirk took over the mavs were losing by 7 pts.

Everyone forgets before the wade phantom foul at the end of OT in game 5 dirk stepped up huge. The mavs were down 1 and dirk hit a fall away jumper with 9 seconds left, haslem up in him and having to shoot over a helping shaq. Huge clutch play that at the time seemed to have put them in position to win the title. That to go along with 50 over suns and spurs game 7.

But that is the thing about dirk, he steps up huge sometimes but then tightens up in other situations. Half way through g.s. series last year he looked like he had 0 confidence, when he had 5 inches on the jacksons and richardsons guarding him.

that is true....dirk struggled in the playoffs the first year without nash. having said that he still hit some big time shots to win some of those games that year....one I was at in the purple palace. anyway last year GS did not cover him one on one. the only time dirk had one on one matchups was on the perimter. anytime he put the ball on the floor or put his back to the basket they ran one or two guys at him. dirk and the mavs never really figured it out and dirk couldn't get to the basket. no one else did either...everything was from the outside. dampier did not play...neither did diop. terry was absent and so was howard. that series was so different than any other the mavs had ever played of late. and much of it came down to matchups that went completely in GS's favor with avery benching his BIGS...and with the way nellie defended dirk. terry and harris got ran over by davis and j-rich.
